05/16/2016
As a great addition to classroom courses of language, culture and history, the academic exchange program Plus 3 – 2016 provides both UEF and Pittsburgh students with great opportunities for real-world observation and interesting outdoor activities. Last weekend left unforgettable moments among the students when they had the chance to enjoy the natural beauty of Vung Tau City as well as discover the picturesque Southwestern region. The journey witnessed breathless yet joyful battles between students from both schools in their beach outdoor games together with beautiful sceneries and delicious Vietnamese seafood.

Saying goodbye to the salty smell of the sea, the students continued their way towards Ben Tre Province and Dong Tam Snake Farm (Tien Giang Province), where they would have a closer look at the lifestyles of the people here. Besides, the journey never failed to lose its attraction when students temporarily took out their “city” labels, connecting themselves to the natural, cultural vibe of the country like real farmers.

The journey enjoyed a perfect ending with visits to famous historical sites of Ho Chi Minh City such as Cu Chi Tunnel, War Remnants Museum, Xa Loi Pagoda, Thich Quang Duc Statue, Notre-Dame Cathedral of Saigon, City Post Office, Independent Palace, and Ben Thanh Market. Such a culture exchange meeting has tightened the relationship between foreign and Vietnamese students, creating an indelible impression in the eyes of international neighbors about Vietnam and its people.
