The 3 remarkable newly-published scientific research papers of students of Faculty of English

With the topic “Issues in English and Liguistics”, the 3 greatest scientific research papers were selected to take part in 1st Student Scientific Research Conference of students specialising in English in the morning of April 7.

There were the presence of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Cao Cuong – Standing Vice President of UEF, Mr. Nguyen Pham Hai Ha – Vice Director of Institute of Technology and Postgraduate Education. The event was also honoured to welcome representatives from faculty of English: Dr. Nguyen Thi Quyen – Deputy Dean, Dr. Duong My Tham - Deputy Dean, Ms. Bui Thi Thuy Quyen - Deputy Dean, lecturers and students.

According to his words in the conference,  Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Cao Cuong shared ‘It’s more challenging to conduct research projects in English than in other aspects such as physics, biology, economy, etc. However, difficulties can be overcome with great determination which has been proved by the completion of these 3 greatest papers. Hopefully, we will be able to retain the tradition of English Faculty and UEF as a whole in which students are active in research activities and obtain more scitific achievements in the future.’

His sharing had such an inspiration for students and helped with their confidence-building so that they could get prepared for the presentations of their projects.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Quyen showed her compassion to students’ difficulties by suggesting some of the scientific topics related to their specility that might be helpful for the students.

Leaders of English Faculty addressed students’ concerns about scientific topics.

The 3 scientific papers were: (1) “Strategies for promoting the use of English as a means of communication on campus of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance”; (2) “A Study about the perceptions of English-majored students at the University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City toward the educational benefits of Kahoot! In terms of skills”; (3) “The application of adventure video games to learn vocabulary for Faculty of students of University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City” , which were presented by 3 groups in English with confidence in front of lecturers and other students. They also gave out answers for related questions posed by lecturers and students in English.

Presentations were delivered by 3 groups with English fluency and confidence.

Lecturers conggratulated the students on their impressive presentations. They also gave detailed feedbacks for each project so that students can learn from such experience for the sake of their development in the future. This also inspired and encouraged them to register for research activities in higher level.

After this conference, English students have gained a great deal of experience in scientific research. May students of English Faculty, with UEF’s inquisitive spirit, have more impressive and practical projects in the next studies.
