UEFers discover Vietnamese history through study tour

07/05/2022
JUNE 30 - Following the study tour series at hotels, consulates, and businesses, students studying International Hospitality and Tourism Management (University of Gloucestershire - UK) and Business Administration (Keuka College - US) were equipped with historical knowledge via a field trip to the Museum of Vietnamese History.

Students gained more in-depth knowledge about Vietnamese history

Under the guidance of Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa – Head of International Relations, Faculty of Social Sciences and Public Relations, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), students had a chance to explore the historical periods of Vietnam from primitive times to the Nguyen dynasty.

UEFers observed artifacts of each period in person, listened to the curator’s presentation on the uniqueness of each milestone, ranging from archaeological relics to cultural works of the ancient Vietnamese. Thereby, they could gain a deep insight into the Vietnamese history, country and people.

Through this field trip, students built their bank of knowledge and skills in guiding tourists to visit Vietnam's attractions. They also learned about Vietnamese traditional musical instruments such as gongs, 36-string zithers, and Vietnamese two-cord fiddles, to name a few, enriching their understanding of traditional culture.

Students of the international program expanded their horizons after the trip

The study tour provided these students with comprehension of Vietnamese history, a golden opportunity to polish their abilities and competence in their respective fields. Morever, it highlights outstanding features of the international cooperation program between UEF and its US and UK partner universities, which constantly brings students work-integrated learning and enjoyable experience.
