UEFers gain experiences, expand career prospects along with representatives of Chinese enterprises

DECEMBER 30 - In the context of global economic integration, acquiring both professional knowledge and language skills has become essential for students to seize career opportunities. To create a networking environment and offer developmental guidance for students majoring in Chinese language, as well as for UEFers passionate about the language, the Chinese Language of UEF Faculty of Languages and International Culture held the "Exchange with Chinese Enterprises" talk show.
The event offered UEFers with opportunities to be able to expose themselves to the practical recruitment information from the top enterprises, helping them cultivate their career paths and equipping themselves with vital skills to conquer the labor market in the context of global economic integration.

The event was attended by Mr. Miao Ren Lai - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Van Su Loi Manufacturing - Trading Co., Ltd; Mr. Zhang Shou Jiang - Factory Director of the Aqua Electrical Appliances Vietnam Co., Ltd; Assoc.Prof. Liu Yong - Lecturer of Academy of Technology, Qingdao Technology University; Mr. Zhang Lin - Director of the Bank of China in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Ding Peng - Head of General Management Department, Bank of China, Ho Chi Minh City Branch; Mr. Li Jin - Head of the Personnel Manager of Continental Textile Co., Ltd; Mr. Sun Cheng Yue - Director of Portever Shipping Viet Nam Co., Ltd; Mr. Royce Kim - Deputy Director of Portever Shipping Viet Nam Co., Ltd; Ms. Xu Xi - Vice President of the Business Association of China in Vietnam Guangdong Enterprise Confederation. 
Representing UEF were Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President; Dr. Tang My Sang - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting; Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Language and International Cultures, Head of the Chinese Language department; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan - Deputy Director of the Center of Corporate Partnerships; Ms. Tran Thanh Huy - Deputy Director of the Center of Corporate Partnerships.

By sharing about this event, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri emphasized that this event is meaningful in connecting students with businesses, providing opportunities to learn and develop practical career skills. He highlighted that the program helps UEFers better understand recruitment needs, motivating them to enhance their abilities and adapt to a multicultural work environment. The event also serves as an important stepping stone for students to expand their network and grasp potential career opportunities in the future.

The program focused on practical topics such as the competitive advantages of learning Chinese, salary expectations, career opportunities, and recruitment criteria, etc. The insights shared by other speakers created a comprehensive picture to help students clarify their personal development path in the context of international integration. In addition, Mr. Miao Ren Lai emphasized that proficiency in Chinese is a significant advantage for students majoring in Chinese Language. However, he stressed that language is a supporting tool, and in order to create real competitive value, students need to supplement their language skills with specialized knowledge in certain fields to enhance their adaptability and career prospects.
In line with this, Mr. Zhang Shou Jiang suggested that students should also focus on acquiring additional knowledge and complementary skills. He highlighted teamwork as an important factor for students to integrate smoothly into the business environment. Furthermore, he recommended areas such as engineering, accounting, and information technology for students to consider learning alongside Chinese.

Regarding recruitment criteria, Mr. Zhang Lin emphasized the significance of logical thinking, accuracy, and the ability to perform tasks meticulously. Particularly, he stressed that proficiency in office software is essential, as most jobs acquire to work with reports and data. He recommended students to take advantage of their probation period to learn, gain experience, and enhance their professional skills.
Meanwhile, Mr. Li Jin, Mr. Sun Cheng Yue and Ms. Xu Xi focused on the importance of positive manners at work. According to them, having a passion for the job, a strong desire to enhance, and good communication skills will help candidates make a positive impression on employers. Additionally, proficiency in Chinese, office software, and logical thinking are indispensable to meet the recruitment requirements in practice. Through these insights, UEFers have gained a clearer understanding of the labor market's expectations and the importance of developing both technical and soft skills.

Before the program ended, UEFers demonstrated their language skills by asking various questions in Chinese, which were answered thoroughly by the speakers. With the shared information during the talk show, it is certain that students majoring in Chinese Language, as well as UEFers passionate about the language, will have a stronger foundation to continue learning, self-developing, and meeting the demands of businesses in the era of global integration.
