04/16/2022

APRIL 8 - UEF conducted an interview to select the two most qualified candidates to attend the international short-term program “Sustainability & Innovation”. This is a great opportunity for students to study abroad at Arizona State University (ASU) in the United States of America.

This course is scheduled to run from July 5 to July 19, 2022 (15 days). Each scholarship is valued at 3.725 USD (equivalent to 89,400,000 VND) including:

  • Application and tuition fees
  • Housing
  • Meals plan cost
  • Plane tickets cost support

The scholarship does not include:

  • Application fee for an F1 visa (160 USD)
  • Reality-based additional airfares
  • Personal expenses

Each applicant was personally interviewed by the Scholarship Evaluation Committee

The Scholarship Evaluation Committee were Dr. Nhan Cam Tri UEF Vice President; Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc Vice President & Director, UEF International Institute; Dr. Nguyen Thi Quyen Vice Dean, Faculty of English, and Mr. Bui Quang Dong Director, Department of Student Services.

The list encompasses all of UEFers who enrol in bilingual and articulation programs with outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements together with their English proficiency, a critical element for international integration. Some of them stated that they had prior experiences in an international environment.

In addition to Dang Ngoc Minh Thu, Son Quoc Hung, Nguyen Nghiep Khai, the familiar faces in academic programs, competitions, and scientific endeavors, new faces including Giang Bao Ngoc, Hoai Phuong, Ngo Tuong Quan, Nguyen Phu Qui, Dang Bao Tran and Dong Truc were also present.

To begin the interview, candidates made a self-introduction and demonstrated their prominent abilities, they then answered pertinent questions posed in English and Vietnamese, such as:

  • What is your orientation after finishing the program?
  • What makes you deserving of this scholarship?
  • What will you share with UEF students as part of the program?
  • Why do you wish to be considered for the scholarship?

These applicants all have excelled in both academics and extracurricular activities at their respective faculties or at the University.

Because each candidate was aware of the fantastic prospects provided by this scholarship, they did their best to present themselves with confidence, English competence, and sincerity. This is not an ordinary interview to pick the representative of UEF to attend the international program, but an opportunity for students to identify their shortcomings through the Committee’s feedback. Regardless of the outcome, the interview prepared each UEFer with new experiences on their journey ahead.
