On the morning of 14th November, the “Flamingo limbs” program was held. With Flamingo as the main symbol and the humane message of “Each life is a colorful story with its own distinct values”, the audiences were filled with emotions and moved by the sentimental stories. The theme of the program is also a metaphor for the image of families with cerebral palsy (CP) children on their integrating journey with community and life.
“Flamingo limbs” conveying faith and motivation for families with CP children
Flamingos usually symbolize “beauty and elegance” because they exemplify happiness, longevity, and sustainability. However, few people recognize its beauty originating from the distinctive structure: dainty legs supporting the whole body. Like a flamingo, difference means unique, and this unique creates extraordinary. Inspired by this symbol, the program was established with the hope of conveying positive messages to society and families with CP children.
In the beginning, parents with CP children shared their emotional insights. Thereby, these parents would like to spread faith, positive energy to general audiences and other families with reminiscent situations. “There were times I felt like indulging in an abyss. With no income, I bawled my eyes out while hugging my sick child. I searched everywhere and did any jobs, even if I could only earn 10000 to 20000 VND. I joined every class related to CP. My only happiness is seeing my child in good condition. My baby girl, you’re my precious treasure.” - the emotional confession of a parent.
