In addition to building a multicultural educational environment at the school, UEF also pays great attention to awarding scholarships to students studying abroad. To share the experience of "hunting" for scholarships and interesting memories in countries of UEF students, on June 25, the UEF Center of Service-Learning in conjunction with the REC club held a talk show “Sharing experiences – 14 Days of Growth in Germany”.
The program was honored to welcome Ms. Phan Thi Lan Anh and Mr. Nguyen Duoc, representative of Karlshochschule International University (Germany) in Vietnam, which is the scholarship sponsor.
To start the program, Mr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc, UEF Vice President shared about the scholarships that UEF students have achieved in recent times, introducing the types of scholarships that students can search for themselves (government and university scholarships scholarships) and the ones available at UEF. The teacher specifically guided students on how to prepare their profiles before “hunting”: impressive GPA scores, international English certificates, and achievements in extracurricular activities.

The "main character" of the talk show is Trinh Thi Vy Phuong, a student who has excellently won a scholarship sponsored by Karlshochschule International University (Germany) to participate in the course "Summer Academy on Intercultural Experience". At the talk show, the students were not only consulted with information about finding scholarships but also joined Vy Phuong to participate in games that simulate classroom activities at Karlshochschule International University.
At the end of the warm-up game, they had the opportunity to sit back and share their thoughts and lessons. The main message that everyone can recognize is learning by trial and error, from which they draw the right direction.
Participation in community activities is especially a huge plus when the students apply for study abroad.
Vy Phuong shares her experience of studying in Germany
In addition, Vy Phuong also shared about the interesting recollections when studying in Germany such as the class without tables and chairs (students can freely choose the position to complete the article) and Germans' awareness of environmental protection is extremely high. Even Karlshochschule International University has only one air-conditioned room that is used to organize testing sessions for students (the air conditioner is only turned on when the temperature exceeds 350C. Moreover, German culture was also a topic given insights into by Vy Phuong.
Students can experience interesting learning activities right at the talk show
In the talk show, the students asked about the conditions to win scholarships from foreign universities. A representative of Karlshochschule International University said that universities in Europe, especially in Germany, do not care about the look but focus on the content of their profiles. They must have a lot of experience, be active in activities, and especially express their desires, goals, and driving forces in their statements of purpose. The interview answers should also be sincere.
