Workshop "Xmas Candles" - Candles Spread Love

17/12/2022
On the afternoon of December 17th, the UEF Service-Learning Center in collaboration with MSD United Way Vietnam held a workshop "Xmas Candles" with the message "Light Up Hope". This is a fundraising activity within the framework of the campaign "New page of life for the 6th time - Opening a new page of life for children". With the goal of raising community spirit and sharing love, all profits of the activity will be used to support disadvantaged children to make birth certificates and implement community projects of the UEF Service-Learning Center.

In the bustling Christmas atmosphere at UEF, the students had the opportunity to transform into real "artisans" of making candles. From the initial steps of pouring wax or placing wicks to the final stages of mixing essential oils, decorating candle cups, ... were all done manually under the enthusiastic support of the organizers. All the thoughts and love that students participated in the workshop is probably best shown through the extremely beautiful and creative finished products.

The activity not only attracted university students but also young children to join together with their family

In a close space with the melody of immortal songs during the festival season, the workshop “Xmas Candles” created a playground through which participants can unleash their creativity and create immensely unique “works of art”. In a short period of time, countless beautiful candle cups were born with a variety of styles, some students chose for themselves a small snowman as a highlight on cool blue tones, while others followed the Minimalism with cool mint color. Besides, there were candle cups dotted with toppings such as chocolate, dried pine nuts, ...

With the desire to bring a memorable experience to the participants, apart from the interesting experiences with candles, students could also immerse themselves in the cozy space here, enjoy the tea and cake stall, or even create unforgettable moments with friends and family at the “thousand like” check-in corner. More specifically, to surprise everyone, "Xmas Candles" also secretly invited "Santa Claus" to give gifts and award the most favorite candles.

At the end of the "Xmas Candles” workshop, besides the interesting and new experiences with scented candles, the students also contributed to lighting up the community's warmth through candles, warming the unfortunate circumstances so that children can have the basic rights of a citizen. Hopefully in the future, students can continue spreading more love and contribute their small part to the community.
