Members of DIGI ME project engage in Creative workshop and learn creative methods

27/08/2021
On the morning of August 25th, more than 30 UEF students participating in the DIGI ME project (coordinated by the Centre of Service-Learning UEF) learnt scientific methods when creating ideas with the Creative workshop.

Currently, the DIGI ME project is implementing Digital Marketing and Communication activities with community organisations: Ibsen Tiny Stage, The New Savvy, UFO Asia, SSVN Social Enterprise, SSEC Organisation, SCSE Center (preparing to deploy).
Accompanying the students in the training is Ms. Pham Thanh Thuy Vy - Lecturer of University of Economics. In addition to teaching, Ms. Thuy Vy has many years of commitment to social and community activities as a researcher, mentor, companion and professional volunteer.

Opening the training session by a cordially energetic way of guiding, Ms. Thuy Vy helped the students distinguish the types of thinking when working in a team. From here, they recognised the difference between management thinking and creative thinking as well as understood the power of personality diversity in teamwork.
Accordingly, a group with a variety of personalities was considered a strong group, when the right coordination would help increase the ability of each member, compensate for weaknesses, increase strengths, and encourage the members to use many creative perspectives when solving problems. The principles of scientific coordination were guided by Ms. Thuy Vy, who provided more important tools to help students have a clear orientation when practicing coordination activities.
Practical exercises were a memorable highlight in this training session. After being instructed in the principles to coordinate a creative discussion session, most of the rest of the training session was the lively collaboration of the students.

Each small group was divided based on the objectives of the project and practised developing ideas with the guidance of Ms. Vy and her experts. This is the time when the students enhanced their learning abilities and creativity with many "Matrix" ideas being born. Despite having acquainted themselves with new tools and platforms in the first place, they quickly grasped and learnt to make good use of the knowledge from the lecture. According to Ms. Thuy Vy, in this section, each group showed its own characteristics in the way of building the "Wall of Idea" to solve problems.
At the end of the training session, the students reflected upon the knowledge they had acquired and actively contributed ideas to one another. They were all very interested in the training method of simultaneously learning and working with practical topics. This method helped them quickly test their knowledge as well as receive timely comments from the coach, thereby increasing their memory capability. Many note boards were actively shared in groups, helping members fully grasp the training content.

The Creative Workshop is designed as an important link in the DIGI ME Service-Learning project to provide more useful tools for students in their creative activities. After the training session, service-learning activities will promise more diversity and breakthroughs with ideas built in the right method.
