The project "Visualizing Documents for the Niem Tin Organization" kicked off with training activities

06/11/2020
On the morning of October 31, UEF students participating in the Visualizing Documents for the Niem Tim Organization organized by the Community Connection Center had their first training session in a series of sketchnoting activities.
Accompanying the students in the role of adviser was Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam. In this project, after receiving training, students will use drawing skills to illustrate specialized documents of the Niem Tin organization. The main goal of the visualizing documents  is to increase the dissemination and accessibility of useful content from specialized documents to a wider audience, the families of children with special circumstances ( hearing- impaired children, developmentally delayed children).

From the first training session, the students were able to show their own unique colors through their pen strokes and Mr. Nam introduced them to basic sketchnote concepts. Sketchnote is a visual note-taking method used to make text content more attractive. In addition, using sketchnote also helps students train their thinking skills, and increase concentration, and memory ability and express their personality through drawing styles.

It is known that the students joining this project were selected based on their suitability for project activities in the previous interview sessions. Unlike usual interviews, this time the students did not have to answer questions but instead, they demonstrated themselves through visual presentation skills. Many interesting ideas appeared in the drawings at the interview.

Exploring the personalities of new teammates at the Orientation session

From the interview drawings, the selected students had an equally attractive presentation in the first Orientation of the project (October 23). Understanding increases and connections deepen as you discuss project goals, and learn about new teammates, and upcoming activities. You also understand more about the major impacts that the project brings to the community.
From the interview drawings, the documents that the students illustrate could become powerful communication tools to raise community awareness and promote positive change for the lives of children with special circumstances.
