Outstanding freshmen with the highest admission scores across different admission methods were honoured
The most inspiring highlight of the programme was its answer to the challenge of adaptability in the digital era. As technology increasingly supports professional operations, mastering the fundamental principles becomes essential for students to take control of technology rather than depend on it. Emphasising this shift in mindset, Mr. Do Quoc Anh shared with the freshmen: “As AI and automation continue to transform the Finance and Accounting sector, students need to shift from a mindset of ‘working with numbers’ to ‘understanding numbers and making decisions based on them,’ while also developing competencies in technology, data, foreign languages, analytical thinking, communication, teamwork, and professional ethics.”

Alongside the spirit of proactively mastering knowledge and technology, “Next Horizon” also encouraged students to take responsibility for themselves from their very first days at university. A promising career does not suddenly emerge on graduation day; it is shaped by the decisions, focus, and perseverance built from the first year onward. Dr. Ha Thi Thuy - Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting - shared a heartfelt message: “Every learning opportunity, experience, or challenge is a ‘seed’ planted for the future. Therefore, you need to know how to set goals, make bold choices, and remain clear-headed in the face of temptations that may lead you off course.”
Drawing from her personal experiences, she encouraged students to take responsibility for their own choices, appreciate their families’ sacrifices, and proactively cultivate knowledge, skills, and professional conduct throughout their university years. “With the support of the University, lecturers, and the business community, every freshman is expected to make sound choices, gradually establish a strong professional position, and make greater contributions to the community and society,” she added.

The enthusiasm of the programme was further strengthened by sincere sharing from those who had gone before. Reflecting on her four-year journey at UEF, alumna Chiem Hoang Mai Vy (Finance and Banking, Class of 2021) affirmed that the greatest value gained from university lies not only in a degree or academic achievements, but also in the confidence and courage to step beyond one’s “comfort zone.” She shared the following message with the younger students: “Four years at university are a journey of accumulating experiences, skills, and opportunities through Youth Union and Student Association activities, clubs, and academic competitions. Be willing to try new things and actively seek experiences, because what remains most valuable in the end is real-world experience and the meaningful support of your lecturers.”

At the event, the meaningful handover of the traditional flag between alumni and freshmen, the recognition of outstanding students with the highest admission scores, and the close support of experts, educational organisations, and corporate partners reinforced a strong sense of confidence for the journey ahead. The 2026 freshmen of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting have officially begun their journey towards a new horizon - a journey defined not only by knowledge, but also by valuable experiences that will enable them to confidently establish their place in the digital era.
