2. Mode and Duration of Study
Mode of study: Full-time.
Duration of study:
Three (03) years for applicants holding a master’s degree;
Four (04) years for applicants holding a bachelor’s degree.
3. Applicants and Admission Requirements
a) General Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree with Very Good classification or higher, in a relevant field as specified in Appendix I (attached).
- Meet all admission requirements in accordance with the doctoral program standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific requirements of the doctoral program to which they are applying.
- Demonstrate research experience through one of the following: A master’s thesis completed within a research-oriented graduate program; Published academic papers or scientific reports;
- At least two (02) years (24 months) of professional experience as a lecturer or researcher at higher education institutions or science and technology organizations.
- Submit a draft research proposal and a proposed study and research plan for the entire program duration.
b) Foreign Language Proficiency Requirements forVietnamese Applicants
Vietnamese applicants must meet the foreign language proficiency requirement, demonstrate through one of the following qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher awarded by a foreign higher education institution, a branch campus of a foreign institution in Vietnam, or a Vietnamese institution where the program was delivered full-time in a foreign language;
- A bachelor’s degree in a foreign language major granted by a Vietnamese higher education institution;
- A foreign language diploma or certificate equivalent to Level 4 or higher of the 6-Level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, as specified in Appendix II (attached), or other equivalent certificates officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training, which must remain valid at the time of application (issued within the past two (02) years).
- In the cases mentioned above, if the foreign language is not English, applicants must demonstrate the ability to communicate in English within their academic field. This includes the ability to present specialized academic topics in English and understand professional discussions conducted in English.
c) Foreign Applicants
- Foreign applicants enrolling in doctoral programs delivered in Vietnamese must:
- Hold a Vietnamese language certificate at Level 4 or higher under the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners; and
- Meet the requirements for a second foreign language as determined by the University, unless they are native speakers of the language used in the doctoral program.
d) Health Requirement
Applicants must be in sufficient health to undertake doctoral study.
đ) Personal Background
Applicants must have a clear personal background, must not be subject to disciplinary action at the level of warning or higher, and must not be serving a criminal sentence.
e) Application Submission
Applicants must submit a complete application dossier within the deadline prescribed by the University’s regulations.

6. Admission Plan and Method, Announcement of Results, and Enrollment Timeline
a) Admission Method
Admission by evaluation, based on two components:
- Evaluation of the application dossier: 30-point scale
- Evaluation of the research proposal: 70-point scale
b) Minimum Admission Threshold
Doctoral candidates must obtain a total score of 50 points or higher from the combined evaluation of the application dossier and research proposal.
c) Application Submission Period
From the date of announcement until February 28, 2026.

(Each academic year consists of two semesters. The full program comprises six semesters for candidates admitted with a master’s degree, or eight semesters for those admitted with a bachelor’s degree.)
Doctoral candidates who extend their study beyond the standard program duration are required to continue paying tuition on a per-semester basis.
