Freshmen of the international joint programmes embark on the new journey with first connections
SEPTEMBER 11, the UEF International Institute held the Orientation Day of International Bachelor’s Programmes 2026 this morning. The event allowed the freshmen to gradually become familiar with the academic roadmap, meet the faculty, and explore student life. This is also a chance for the new members of the Institute to establish their first connections before officially beginning their university journey.
Attending the Orientation Day were Dr. Đỗ Hữu Nguyên Lộc - Vice President, Prof.Dr. Eric Jose Olmedo Panal - Director of UEF International Institute, Mr. Nguyễn Bá Anh and Mr. Trần Lưu Phương Nam - Deputy Director of UEF International Institute, and lecturers and staff of the UEF International Institute. The event also welcomed Ms. Ruby Nguyễn - Partnership Director, Vietnam Program, Keuka College (USA).
In the welcome speech delivered to freshmen of the international joint programmes of Gloucestershire (UK), Keuka (USA) và CY Cergy Paris (France), Dr. Đỗ Hữu Nguyên Lộc and Prof.Dr. Eric Jose Olmedo Panal expressed their expectations for the new generation of students, who have the courage to take initiatives and are eager for global integration. These messages for K26 set the attitude for their learning journey ahead: study diligently, regularly enhance their skills, actively participate in different activities, and fully enjoy their university life.

For students who have just graduated from high school, university presents a whole new world to explore. Therefore, a welcome from the Board of Presidents, Heads of the Institute, and the faculty who will directly support them in the following years gave the freshmen a sense that their university journey has officially begun.
During the event, the freshmen had opportunities to meet the faculty. The lecturers took turns introducing themselves and the courses they are teaching, and sending greetings to the freshmen. The initial sharings about the courses also allowed students to figure out what their upcoming meetings in the lecture hall will look like.

After a few moments of greetings, the content of academic regulations was delivered in detail to fully prepare students before beginning a new academic year. Mr. Hoàng Trần Quang Dương - Head of Academic Operation, UEF International Institute, directly presented information about the study programme, academic regulations, and student support channels.

The academic orientation helped the K26 find out how to start their journey, while the Student Life & Club Showcase activity showed another aspect of university life. Through various clubs, community projects, and international activities at the UEF International Institute, students can have opportunities to make new friends, challenge themselves, and pursue their passions.
The stage became even more vibrant with the introduction and interaction with many clubs: International Exchange Friends (IEF), Great Britain International Student Association (GISA), UEF Reception & Model (URM), UEF Boxing Club (UBC), Global Event and Media Club (GEM), and UEF International Ambassador Club (UIAC). This activity provided freshmen with initial suggestions for communities they may join in the near future.
After the event, the students continued to visit the club area to make new friends and explore each unit’s activities.
Through the event, the University wished students a smooth, enthusiastic, and successful start. Yet for the freshmen, this was just the very first chapter of their journey. Waiting for them ahead are classes, meetings, activities, challenges, and various opportunities to explore their own capabilities.
