In the context of rapid technological advancement and its growing integration into education, UEF students are being exposed to modern and effective learning methods. To adapt swiftly to an era of global integration, their English proficiency is being continuously enhanced through practical and engaging activities. Among these, the English Workshop series organized regularly by the Faculty of English stands out as a signature initiative.
On the morning of June 4, the twelfth session, titled “AI-Powered Vocabulary Building”, was held with great enthusiasm, attracting a large number of students from various faculties and institutes across the university. In this workshop, participants not only learned about applying AI to English vocabulary development but also had the opportunity to engage in hands-on practice with the guest speaker. The session was conducted by Mr. Võ Trọng Nghĩa, M.A., a lecturer from the Faculty of English.
English Workshop activities always receive enthusiastic participation from UEF students.
During the workshop, many students openly shared their common challenges in vocabulary learning—such as difficulty understanding meanings, memorizing words, having uncertainty about word types, and mispronunciation. Though common, these obstacles can significantly hinder learners from using English naturally and effectively.
Addressing these issues, the workshop introduced a new approach: using AI technology to support vocabulary learning. The discussion revolved around three main goals:
- Finding and generating vocabulary with the help of intelligent AI platforms;
- Learning independently without constant teacher guidance, empowering students to take greater control of their English-learning journey and develop autonomous study skills;
- Leveraging AI tools effectively to enhance vocabulary acquisition.

Beyond introducing tools, the workshop conveyed a powerful message about embracing digital transformation—encouraging students to make technology their “ally” rather than just an optional aid. By integrating AI into learning, UEF students not only gain access to new methods of acquiring knowledge but also nurture a spirit of continuous learning, curiosity, and creativity in language use.
The English Workshop series and other language-skill enrichment programs at UEF clearly reflect the university’s strong focus on improving students’ competencies, keeping pace with global trends, and cultivating a modern, dynamic, and experiential learning environment. After each session, students leave with useful study tips and renewed motivation to become more proactive, confident, and adaptable in an increasingly interconnected world.
Students practice using AI effectively under classroom guidance.
Through ongoing innovation in teaching methods, the Faculty of English and UEF as a whole reaffirms its commitment to providing students with a solid, modern, and globally relevant English foundation. Workshops like this serve not only as classrooms but also as inspirational spaces that connect knowledge, foster creativity, and ignite a lifelong passion for learning.
