UEF Students Research Contest

12/25/2025

In the flow of educational innovation in higher education, scientific research has gradually become an important part of students' learning journeys. After undergoing serious and competitive selection rounds, the Faculty of English and the Faculty of International Languages and Cultures organized the final round of the “Student Research Ideas in the Language Sector” (SRSL 2025) competition for the academic year 2025 - 2026 on the morning of December 24.

The Competition is a Forum for Useful Academic Exchange

More than just an academic playground, SRSL 2025 is viewed as a space for students to showcase sharp research thinking, applying specialized knowledge, scientific methods, and personal perspectives to address current issues in the fields of language, education, and technology. The competition contributes to nurturing academic spirit, igniting a passion for research, and gradually forming scientific independence among language students at UEF.

In the final round, eight outstanding topics selected from previous rounds were presented in the form of scientific posters accompanied by live presentations in both English and Vietnamese. Each project reflects a serious process of exploration, analysis, and systematic knowledge organization, clearly showing independent research thinking, logical reasoning ability, and increasingly professional academic demeanor among students.

Through SRSL 2025, the two organizing units reaffirm their training orientation associated with scientific research, creating opportunities for students to become familiar with structured research processes from idea formation to outline construction, presentation, and defense of results before a specialized committee.

English Division - Affirming Academic Thinking in the Context of Integration

In the English competition segment, four research projects clearly demonstrated the international integration capacity and academic thinking of UEF students. The topics not only focus on applied linguistics but also expand into modern educational trends, showcasing an updated knowledge base and the capacity to address issues from a global perspective.
The research content primarily analyzes the effectiveness of innovative teaching and learning methods, the role of psychological and cognitive factors during foreign language acquisition, and the impact of digital technology on language skill development. With clear theoretical foundations, appropriate research methods, and persuasive reasoning, the projects offer both academic value and practical application directions in foreign language education.

The committee evaluating the projects included Dr. Su Dinh Khoa - Director of the Anh Duong Foreign Language Center; Dr. Le Thi Nguyet - lecturer at the People’s Security University; and Ms. Pham Huong Ngoc Uyen - lecturer at the Faculty of English, UEF.

The topics clearly reflected students' concerns about improving learning quality, innovating teaching methods, and adapting to the digital transformation in higher education.

The research focused on analyzing the application of artificial intelligence in language learning and teaching, evaluating the impact of new technological tools on students' cognition, attitudes, and learning behaviors. Through coherent presentations, logical arguments, and specific examples, students demonstrated their capabilities in academic expression and proposed feasible solutions to improve the effectiveness of foreign language education.
