Finance and Accounting students are equipped with CV writing skills to impress employers

03/25/2026

To support students in improving their job application capabilities in an increasingly competitive labor market, on the morning of March 24, the Faculty of Finance and Accounting organized a workshop on the topic “CV Writing Skills – The Art of Making a First Impression on Recruiters”. The program attracted strong interest from many students, especially those preparing to enter their internship period and search for jobs.

The workshop featured the participation of Ms. Phạm Thị Bích Ngọc - Senior Customer Service Manager at CareerViet, who brought many practical insights into the recruitment process as well as employers’ expectations of candidates. Representing the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, M.A. Nguyễn Thanh Lâm - Vice Dean - expressed his appreciation to the speaker for joining the program and sharing valuable experience with students.

The workshop provided students preparing for internships with useful tools

At the program, the speaker helped students clearly understand the role of a CV as the “first ticket” to approach recruiters. Accordingly, an effective CV should not stop at presenting personal information, but must be tailored to each position applied for, use keywords aligned with the job description JD, and clearly demonstrate relevant competencies and experience. In addition, carefully researching the company, industry, products, and core values is also an important factor that helps candidates stand out.

Speaker Bích Ngọc shared CV writing skills to help students make a strong impression on recruiters

Besides CV writing skills, the speaker also shared in detail the entire interview journey of a candidate, including the stages before, during, and after the interview. Students were guided on how to prepare information, develop professional demeanor, communication skills, handle situations, and follow up and respond after the interview. These practical notes helped learners visualize the professional application journey more clearly.

Through the workshop, students were not only equipped with fundamental knowledge about building a CV but also became more confident in conquering recruiters. This is one of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting’s practical activities in connecting training with real world needs, thereby contributing to strengthening students’ professional competencies while they are still at university.
