On the morning of January 27, the Faculty of Finance and Accounting organized a graduation thesis defense session for 9 students from the majors of Finance and Banking, Auditing, Financial Technology, and International Finance. This was an important milestone, marking students’ learning, research, and application of specialized knowledge before completing their training program.
The defense session was carried out through 9 evaluation committees corresponding to 9 thesis topics, with the participation of the following members: Dr. Hà Thị Thủy, M.A. Nguyễn Thanh Lâm, Dr. Bùi Thanh Long, Dr. Nguyễn Phúc Quỳnh Như, M.A. Đỗ Thị Lệ Thu, M.A. Đỗ Quang Minh, M.A. Trần Minh Tú, M.A. Lâm Đặng Xuân Hoa, and M.A. Trần Ngọc Thanh.
During the defense session, students took turns presenting and defending topics closely associated with finance technology trends and the contemporary economic context, demonstrating analytical thinking, independent research ability, and a clear career orientation.
Specifically, student Đỗ Ngọc Dũng researched the topic Real world asset tokenization: Opportunities and challenges for Vietnam through international experience; student Đinh Nguyễn Lan Anh presented the topic Application of Generative AI in analyzing and optimizing banking business processes in Vietnam; and student Bùi Thanh Phương presented the topic Solutions for revenue management and forecasting using visualization tools in data analysis at Sunrise Events Vietnam Company.
In addition, student Lê Yến Nhi conducted the topic Improving the audit process of fixed asset items in the audit of financial statements at E JUNG Auditing Company Limited; student Nguyễn Lê Phương Anh researched Motivations and challenges in auditing: A qualitative study of newly employed auditors at the audit assistant level; and student Huỳnh Thị Tố Trinh presented the topic The impact of financial structure on the financial risk of retail enterprises listed on the HOSE stock exchange.
From the perspective of behavioral finance and sustainable development, student Tạ Diễm My presented the topic Factors affecting the cashless behavior of Gen Z in Ho Chi Minh City; student Võ Khắc Mỹ Duyên researched Assessment of the current implementation of green credit and barriers to capital access for individual customers at Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank MB Bank; and student Nguyễn Nữ Như Ngọc presented the topic The current state of digital transformation and the impact of digital transformation on economic growth in Southeast Asian countries.
After the presentation, students listened to comments and directly answered the questions raised by the evaluation committees. In addition to recognizing the strengths in both content and presentation, the committees also provided detailed feedback so that students could revise their theses into the final completed version.
Through the defense session, the committees highly appreciated the practical relevance and up to date nature of the topics, while also recognizing the growth in research thinking and professional competence of the students of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting. It is certain that this will be an important stepping stone to help UEFers continue to higher levels of study or find high quality jobs in the future.
