IRers are equipped with UN knowledge from the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN

With the motto "Integrating training with practice ", the Faculty of International Relations UEF has been actively creating many opportunities for students to regularly listen to sharing, analysis and practical experiences from leading experts in the field of Diplomacy, especially in the complicated context of the pandemic, the hybrid learning method (combining face-to-face and online learning) is being applied by universities in an effective way. 

Recently, the Faculty of International Relations successfully organized 02 lessons in the subject of International Organizations, with the appearance and participation of Colonel, Dr. Ha Thanh Chung - Military Attaché, Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations (2014-2017), Former Deputy Head of the Training Department, Academy of Military Science, Ministry of National Defense.

After 2 days of active and enthusiastic study, our IR students listened to basic knowledge about the characteristics of the United Nations peacekeeping force, the role of Vietnam in this force.

Accordingly, the UN peacekeeping force operates on the principle of ensuring independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development; suitable to national interests, ethnic groups, conditions and capabilities of countries; respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations. Only participate in activities of assisting in overcoming the consequences of war, maintaining peace after conflict, for humanitarian purposes at the request of the United Nations. Only deployed in countries and regions that have been established by the United Nations and at UN agencies.

In addition, Dr. Ha Thanh Chung also shared good memories and difficulties of the members of the Vietnamese mission to the United Nations. He also analyzed for students to realize the meaning, opportunities and advantages for Vietnam when having a representative to participate in UN peacekeeping work.

With interesting, practical leads based on experience in  Diplomacy and above all, the ability to use foreign languages flexibly, Colonel, Dr. Ha Thanh Chung has completed attracting the attention of students, bringing close moments of exchange and useful information.

The Faculty of International Relations would like to thank the attention and presence of Colonel, Dr. Ha Thanh Chung, Military Attaché, Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations (2014-2017) in the subject of International Organizations. Wishing Dr. Ha Thanh Chung has good health and good work.
