Talkshow “IRers: Opportunities to develop yourself with local diplomacy”

With the purpose of helping students of the Faculty of International Relations learn more about the practice of diplomacy in the provinces and cities and answer students' questions about the knowledge and information related to the qualities and skills needed when participating in the diplomatic profession in localities, the Faculty of International Relations organizes Talkshow "IRers: Opportunities to develop yourself with local diplomacy" at 14:00, Saturday, September 4th, 2021 via Zoom platform, livestream on Fanpage of Faculty of International Relations.

The event had the participation of the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, led by MSc. Le Phuong Cat Nhi - Lecturer of Faculty of International Relations and speaker of talkshow - MSc. Nguyen Hoang Tri, General Secretary – Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association, Binh Phuoc Province, Assistant Director for Foreign NGOs, Department of Foreign Affairs of Binh Phuoc Province, Expert on Development of Door Economic Zones Export, Department of Foreign Affairs of Binh Phuoc province, especially more than 100 students attended.


At the beginning, the speaker introduced to students a reportage clip about Binh Phuoc province's foreign activities and foreign non-governmental activities. The motto of local foreign affairs is to be proactive and creative.

Students should hone their foreign language skills, especially second language, and accumulate in-depth knowledge in their favorite field. In addition, they need to have soft skills such as: critical thinking, presentation, teamwork, understanding digital diplomacy, diplomacy 4.0, good health, management, acumen, foresight.

During his university studies, the speaker actively participates in extracurricular activities to practice event organization skills and apply them to his current work. In particular, the speaker clearly defined the job objective to prepare the necessary skills even as a student.

The speaker provided students with a model of a networking system that you should be interested in: domestic foreign affairs departments, provincial and municipal foreign affairs departments, multinational corporations, and Vietnamese diplomatic missions in foreign. Besides, about opportunities for personal development, the speaker shared that students focus on seeking opportunities to foster foreign languages, expertise, politics, and foreign work/

The talkshow helped the students of the Faculty of International Relations gain more practical knowledge about the local diplomatic work as well as study experience at the Faculty in the coming time.
