After more than three months participating in the exchange semester program in China, students majoring in Chinese Language, class of 2022, have adapted well to life as international students. They all expressed their admiration for the teaching programs, learning facilities, and the fascinating cultural experiences in this international environment.

UEF students are participating in the exchange program at three universities: QuFu Normal University, Guangxi University, and Guangxi University for Nationalities. The exchange lasts for six months, during which students study and practice business Chinese while gaining valuable lessons and experiences about the country’s culture. In particular, as winter approaches and the Christmas season arrives, they are enjoying new and exciting experiences in this populous nation.

Students experience a modern learning environment at partner universities

Sharing about the program, the students highlighted the positive values they gained, from teaching methods to the support of professors and international peers.

“Throughout the semester, I had the opportunity to engage with modern teaching methods and interact with professors and international classmates, which expanded my knowledge and honed my language skills. The engaging classes, combined with visits to historical landmarks and cultural festivals in China, helped me gain a deeper understanding of the people and customs here,” said Bui Le Nhu Y, an exchange student at QuFu Normal University.

Truong My Linh, an exchange student at Guangxi University for Nationalities, also shared: “I had the chance to interact, learn, and be inspired by the learning spirit of students from both Vietnam and other countries. In addition, I was able to explore and understand the unique cultural aspects of China through insights shared by local professors. I feel that the teachers are very dedicated and always ready to answer any questions we have during our studies.”

UEFers explore and discover numerous scenic and cultural sites

In addition to their studies, the living environment and extracurricular experiences have left memorable impressions during their exchange. The approaching winter and Christmas season made these moments even more special.

“I find the learning environment excellent, with a spacious campus full of greenery. The university offers a full range of services such as markets, convenience stores, cafes, a canteen, gym, and swimming pool. The professors are very enthusiastic and always ready to help whenever we face difficulties. Transportation, including the subway and trams, is also very convenient and easy to use. The weather is very pleasant—winter has arrived, but it is not too cold,” said Do Thi Ngoc Trinh, an exchange student at Guangxi University.

The approaching winter and Christmas season made the students even more excited.

Beyond the well-equipped facilities, Hua Vi Linh, an exchange student at Guangxi University for Nationalities, was particularly impressed by the opportunity to practice Chinese directly with local people, experience diverse cultures, connect with friends from different countries, and travel to explore various regions. “Although I have only been studying here for three months, this university has left me with many impressive and enjoyable experiences. I am also planning to register for another international semester next time,” Vi Linh shared.

In addition to improving language skills and gaining useful knowledge, the trip allows students to experience many new cultural aspects. It is also an opportunity for them to promote a positive image of UEF students to the international community. During the remainder of the program, it is hoped that the students will continue to learn, explore, and demonstrate their confidence and global engagement.
