UEF Leadership Delegation Attends QS Higher Ed Summit 2025 in the Republic of Korea
From November 4 to 6, a leadership delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) paid a working visit to Seoul, Republic of Korea, to participate in the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2025, hosted by Korea University.
The delegation comprised Dr. Nhan Cam Tri, Vice President; Dr. Ngo Minh Hai, Vice President; Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation; and Ms. Ha Le Thu Hoai, M.A., Deputy Director of the Project-Based Learning Design Training Center. UEF’s presence at one of the most prestigious higher education forums in the Asia - Pacific region further reaffirmed internationalization as a core pillar of the University’s development strategy.

UEF Leadership Delegation Attends QS Higher Ed Summit 2025
QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2025, organized by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, is a major series of events bringing together nearly 2,000 university leaders, scholars, and policymakers from over 40 countries. This year’s theme focused on unlocking the potential of future generations through skills development and strategic partnerships. Key discussions addressed emerging trends and challenges in higher education, including the application of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in teaching and learning, employability skills and competency frameworks, research impact, university-industry collaboration, and flexible and micro-credential learning models aligned with future labor market demands.
Through its participation, UEF pursued several strategic objectives, including updating international standards and best practices in university governance, quality assurance, accreditation, and competency-based curriculum development; expanding institutional networks to promote student and faculty mobility, joint research supervision, international internships, and experiential semester programs; and showcasing UEF’s strengths in bilingual and international education, as well as its close integration of academic training with enterprise-based learning experiences. Engagement in high-level policy dialogues and meetings with leading regional universities enabled UEF to further align its systems with global standards and identify new partnership opportunities, particularly in artificial intelligence, digital business, communications, finance and banking, logistics, and tourism and hospitality.

Notably, Dr. Ly Thien Trang was invited as a speaker in the panel discussion titled “How Universities Are Shaping ASEAN’s Tomorrow.” Her participation contributed to enhancing UEF’s academic standing within the regional higher education network, while also promoting Vietnamese higher education best practices on an international platform.

UEF signs an MOU with Korea Cyber University
On the sidelines of plenary and thematic sessions, UEF representatives actively engaged in discussions on potential collaboration with several regional universities and educational institutions, including Korea Cyber University, Malaysia Science University (MSU), and Tongmyong University.
In particular, on the morning of November 5, UEF officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea Cyber University, expanding cooperation in areas such as academic exchange, short-term programs and international semesters, as well as internship opportunities and career-oriented experiential learning in the Republic of Korea. This milestone represents a concrete step in implementing UEF’s strategy for flexible and multimodal education, enhancing access to advanced academic environments for both students and faculty members.

The working visit to the Republic of Korea underscored UEF’s approach of aligning with regional standards while responding to market needs. Key outcomes include updating AI-driven curriculum design and competency-based assessment practices, strengthening international quality assurance and accreditation systems, enhancing academic mobility through newly established partnerships, and promoting digital teaching innovation, research culture, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
With its active engagement at the QS Higher Ed Summit 2025 and the newly signed cooperation agreements, UEF continues to reaffirm its commitment to comprehensive internationalization and to elevating educational quality under the guiding principle of “International University - Global Careers.” These initiatives lay a strong foundation for learners to develop global competencies, skills, and mindsets that meet employer expectations in the era of digital transformation. Beyond expanding UEF’s international partnership network, the visit also generated actionable initiatives to be implemented in the upcoming academic year, enriching international academic and career experiences for the UEF community.
