A Space to Connect Generations, Spread Love, and Awaken Family and Community Values at UEF

Amid the fast-paced rhythm of modern life, as family gatherings become less frequent and conversations between generations gradually fade, “Community Day – Connecting Generations 2025,” co-organized by UEF and TECD, took place on the morning of May 17 as a chance for people to reconnect, a place where hearts drew closer, traditional values were rekindled, and family affection was shared. It was a place where hearts came closer, traditional values were rekindled, and family affection was shared and spread.

The event featured a variety of activities.

The program was attended by Dr. Nhan Cam Tri, Vice President of UEF; Mr. Bui Quang Dong, Head of the Office of Student Services; Ms. Tran Ngoc Diem Minh, Deputy Head of the Office of Student Services; Mr. Nguyen Huynh Sinh, Deputy Head of the Office of Student Services; Ms. Tran Thi My Phuong, Director of the UEF Center of Service-Learning; and Ms. Cao Thi Thuy Lien, Director of the event’s sponsor, Kambria Vietnam, together with representatives from the coordinating organizations.

At its heart, the event was a gentle reminder of something simple yet essential: family remains the foundation on which every person grows. With grandparents, parents, children, and UEF students all taking part, it became a space where past and present, old memories and new journeys, met. 

Each activity carried its own message. Among them, the short film competition “Trạm Thời Gian – Lưu Ký Ức” created an opportunity for young people to listen to their grandparents' life stories, and the films themselves carried genuine, heartfelt emotion.

In addition, scholarships awarded to children being raised by their grandparents represented a small yet meaningful act of care, like the community extending its arms to support young lives on their journey of growth. The gifts presented to three-generation families served as a warm recognition of their meaningful presence and a testament to the collective effort to nurture, preserve, and promote family values.

In addition, “Community Day” served as a space for connection through practical experiences, including health care activities, first-aid guidance, and dozens of interactive booths. Everything was designed with one common goal: to create a space where family members of all generations could participate, experience, and better understand one another. The greatest significance of “Community Day” did not lie in its scale or lively atmosphere, but in the human values it brought to life. It was a journey of rekindling memories and rediscovering the invisible bonds connecting grandparents, parents, and children. It was a place where young people could listen to stories from the past, where older adults could find joy in sharing their experiences, and where everyone could realize that true love sometimes comes from nothing more than a glance, a hand held, or a sincere moment of listening.

Through thoughtful organization and dedication to every detail, UEF reaffirmed its pioneering role in spreading community values. The university not only provides knowledge and education but also nurtures emotions and connects people. “Community Day – Connecting Generations 2025” came to an end with smiles, bright eyes filled with joy, and moments of emotion. More than that, the program opened the door to a new journey – one where people learn to love, stay close, and cherish every moment spent with family.
