On the morning of March 23, UEF hosted an exchange program with a delegation of students from Ateneo de Davao University (Philippines). The program was not only an opportunity to meet and foster international cultural connections, but also created a space for academic discussion around modern educational trends, especially the orientation toward sustainable development ESG in education.

The exchange opened up new cooperation opportunities for UEF’s Finance and Accounting disciplines
Representing UEF were Dr. Đỗ Hữu Nguyên Lộc - Vice President, Dr. Hà Thị Thủy - Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, M.A. Nguyễn Thanh Lâm - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, and Ms. Nguyễn Kim Thoa - Vice Director of the International Institute.
From the partner institution were Ms. Rechell Kaye B. Mosqueda Binoya - Chair of the Management Accounting Department, Ms. Ruth Chew - Faculty Member of the Management Accounting Department, Mr. John Paul Yu - Faculty Member of the Management Accounting Department, and Dr. Francis Manayan - Faculty Member of the Management Accounting Department.

In welcoming the international student delegation, Dr. Đỗ Hữu Nguyên Lộc shared that the objective of the meeting between the two institutions was to open up opportunities for more international programs and cultural exchange, with the goal of helping students become global citizens in the future.

At the meeting, representing the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Dr. Hà Thị Thủy shared an approach to designing curricula closely connected to real world practice and societal needs. The presentation focused on UEF’s ESG educational ecosystem model, in which environmental, social, and governance factors are integrated into the curriculum, especially in the economics and finance disciplines. Extracurricular activities, seminars, and academic discussions are seen as bridges that help students approach ESG issues in a practical and interdisciplinary way.

Alongside advantages such as support from the university and career trends identified by professional organizations, the discussion also candidly pointed out several challenges in implementing ESG, such as standardizing curriculum frameworks, expanding practice oriented learning materials, and strengthening lecturers’ professional capacity. On that basis, the two sides discussed directions for cooperation in developing ESG training programs, opening up opportunities for academic collaboration and future student and faculty exchanges.
