The Faculty of Finance – Accounting launches the student scientific research competition with an innovation mindset
The kick-off was attended by Dr. Hà Thị Thủy – Dean of the Faculty of Finance – Accounting; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thành Luân – Deputy Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Projects; M.A. Nguyễn Thanh Lâm – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance – Accounting; M.A. Nguyễn Nam Trung – Assistant to the Dean; and Mr. Lê Đức Phát – Training Advisor for Scientific Research and Graduation Theses at Uni Group, as the guest speaker.

In the opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thành Luân emphasized the importance of scientific research in the university environment. Research not only trains students in critical thinking, but also serves as a springboard to conquer larger academic competitions within and beyond the university.

Dr. Hà Thị Thủy also affirmed that, alongside coursework, students should proactively engage in research. This is how they deepen knowledge, develop analytical thinking, and enhance practical application.

At the program, M.A. Nguyễn Thanh Lâm announced the rules, procedures, and evaluation criteria of the competition. Accordingly, the five best projects from the Faculty-level round will be selected to represent the Faculty of Finance – Accounting at the university-wide scientific research competition.

The highlight of the kick-off was an inspiring talk by guest speaker Lê Đức Phát titled “Mindset – The Foundational Thinking of an Effective Researcher”. He helped students understand the value and significance of scientific research, identify obstacles and academic integrity violations to avoid, and introduced the 3T formula (Curiosity – Search – Synthesis) as a “compass” for more effective research approaches and execution.

Students’ questions about research and the competition were addressed during the program
The kick-off not only conveyed an academic spirit but also ignited a passion for research among students. With guidance from faculty and inspiration from experts, the “Student Scientific Research Competition, Academic Year 2025–2026” promises to be an intellectual arena where creative ideas are nurtured and widely disseminated within the UEF student community.
