The CFAC 2021 National Scientific Conference opens with 2 sessions: Accounting &Commercial Business

This morning (1/7/2021), the HCMC University of Economics and Finance (UEF) in collaboration with the Department of Southern Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Technology have held a national scientific conference on Finance, Accounting and Commercial Business (CFAC 2021) in an online format with the theme “Technology Innovation, Market and Policy”. On the first day, the seminar has taken place with 2 sessions on Accounting and Commercial Business.
The seminar was attended by Mr. Tran Hai Dang - Deputy Head of Science and Technology Potential Cooperation and Development Department, Southern Affairs Department - Ministry of Science and Technology, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Cao Cuong – Deputy Principal of UEF, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri – Deputy principal of UEF, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - Deputy principal of UEF, MA. Nguyen Tien Hung - Dean of the UEF’s Faculty of Finance and Commerce, MA. Nguyen Pham Hai Ha – Deputy Head of the UEF’s Institute for Postgraduate Education and Science & Technology.

About the chairs of the seminars, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Van Tung - Dean of Faculty of Commerce - Finance HUTECH chaired the Accounting session, Dr. Truong Quang Dung – Head of the UEF’s Institute for Postgraduate Education and Science & Technology chaired the Business and Trade session.

The participating partners include: Ms. Nguyen Thuy Minh Chau - Mekong region director of ACCA Global, Ms. Le Thi Hau - Southeast Asia Member Development Director of ACCA Vietnam, Ms. Khuat Thi Lien Huong - Head of Senior Foreign Affairs Committee, ACCA Vietnam Education and Training Division, Dr. Doan Thi Quynh Anh - Dean of Accounting Faculty, University of Labor and Social Affairs.

Many accounting – auditing issues have been posed in the seminar
At the seminar on Accounting, there were 4 presentations, including: (1) Impact of technology application in auditing; (2) Application of smart contract features (Smart Contracts) in internal audit activities on Blockchain platform; (3) Discussing the role of internal audit in the 3-level model in listed companies; (4) Accounting human resources in the period of technological innovation in Vietnam - Current situation and solutions
 
Presentation 1 done by Ms. Le Thi Hau has pointed out popular technology applications in audit including: Blockchain, Drone Technology, Natural language processing, Data analytics, AI and Machine learning and the analysis of the influence of these technologies’ application.






Auditing issues discussed in the Accounting seminar
 
In presentation 2, with the topic revolving around Blockchain application, MA. Le Huu Nghia has presented the contents of audit procedures under the smart contract method to address the risk of material misstatement in sales and procurements; Application of smart contracts for purchase and sale of goods between buyers and sellers in the production and trade of goods. In addition, Mr. Nghia has also analyzed the opportunities and challenges of the application of smart contract features in internal audit activities on the Blockchain platform.

MA. Le Phuong Dung is the reporter for the presentation 3. She has provided the detailed analysis of the 3-level model and the 3-level of defense model when it comes to the role of internal audit. From there, she has come to a conclusion about the characteristics and skills required for internal audit itself and propose appropriate solutions.
The final discussion was presented by MA. Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga. The content of the presentation includes: Opportunities and challenges for accountants in the period of technological innovation; The current situation of accounting human resources in Vietnam in the current technological innovation period; Some solutions to improve the quality of accounting human resources in the period of technological innovation.
After each presentation, the participants gave scientific arguments to help improve the papers.
 
Commercial business session highlights many issues in the digital age 
 
During the seminar on Commercial Business, there were 3 presentations, including: (1) Restructuring small and medium enterprises in Vietnam related to digital transformation in the post-Covid-19 period, (2) Vietnam sharing economics - Opportunities and challenges, (3) Research and develop digital human resources to meet the needs of digital businesses in Vietnam.




At the session on Commercial Business, many issues of the digital economy and digital transformation were discussed

Paper 1, presented by Mr. Phan Ngoc Anh, has analyzed the current situation of the digital economy changes and the impacts of Covid-19. He pointed out the differences between digitalization and digital transformation, the benefits of digital transformation technology, the fields that have done digital transformation, software to help understand customers, and steps to help businesses transform successfully.

In the second paper, Ms. Vo Ngoc Huynh Nhu – from the Study Case Joint Stock Company – has represented the group to present this paper. The issues raised include: an overview of the sharing economy model in Vietnam, the opportunities and challenges of this model and the groups proposed to develop the sharing economy in Vietnam.
In the final paper of the Commercial Business session, Ms. Luu Thi Thanh Mai - Saigon International University has proposed a series of solutions after studying the topic, including: Solutions for digital human resources; Steam training solutions; Solutions for the human resource that quickly adapt “Agility”; Solutions for digital ecosystems.

At the end of the three presentations, the council has conducted scientific arguments, comments and suggestions to make the topics more complete.

Two seminars on Accounting and Commercial Business have ended successfully with many issues clarified. The second day of the conference will take place with two sessions on Finance and Tourism at 8:00AM on 2/7/2021, the Master session will take place at 10:30AM on the same day.
