UEF Students Explore the Role of In-house Lawyers in the Banking Sector
 
With the aim of enabling students to access practical knowledge of in-house legal practice in enterprises and banks, while developing legal thinking closely associated with professional careers, on the morning of November 8, the Faculty of Law, together with the Youth Union and Student Association of the Faculty of Law at UEF, organized a workshop titled “How In-house Lawyers Empower Bankers – Exploring the Role of In-house Lawyers in the Banking Sector.”
 
The workshop was a meaningful activity in response to Vietnam Law Day, contributing to spreading the spirit of learning and enhancing legal awareness among the UEF student community.

The workshop is successfully held with the enthusiastic participation of a large number of Faculty of Law students 

The workshop featured the participation and sharing of Mr. Hồ Vĩnh Long, MA, Lawyer – Legal Director of HSBC Vietnam. The speaker delivered extensive practical knowledge on in-house legal operations in the banking sector. The program was also attended by Dr. Đỗ Hữu Nguyên Lộc – Vice President of UEF; Ms. Nguyễn Thị Kim Loan, MA – Deputy Director of the Corporate Partnership Center; Dr. Nguyễn Kim Thoa – Deputy Director of the International Institute; lecturers of the Faculty of Law; and a large number of law students.

With his extensive experience in legal compliance, Lawyer Hồ Vĩnh Long provided students with a comprehensive perspective on the role of in-house lawyers in the banking environment. Through practice-oriented sharing, students were introduced to various professional topics such as financial and non-financial risks, risk management, contract advisory, working capital management, and skills for handling real-life legal situations. These insights helped students better understand professional requirements and enhance their ability to flexibly apply legal knowledge in practice.
 
In parallel with professional knowledge, the speaker emphasized the importance of professional ethics as a core factor enabling lawyers to build credibility, affirm personal value, and pursue sustainable career development.

Throughout the program, UEF students demonstrated a serious learning spirit by actively asking questions and engaging in discussions in English with the speaker. This not only deepened their understanding of legal practice but also strengthened their professional English skills, critical thinking, and essential professional qualities needed to become competent lawyers in the digital and international integration era.

The workshop concluded with many practical values, helping students broaden their career perspectives and clarify their personal development orientations.
