08/03/2019
Participating in the event “Students of UEF - Beautiful stories”, Trinh Thi Vy Phuong has taken the first prize and passed the interview to achieve the scholarship “Summer Academy on Intercultural Experience”. The scholarship is launched by Center of Service - Learning UEF.
Officially check-in in Germany, Vy Phuong has had a lot of interesting learning experience with worldwide students. Let’s listen to her sharing about the country and the priceless international course.

“The last trip was a beautiful experience in my study life which I am honored to have. In the first few days in Germany, I hardly avoided being nervous when I started to get used to the new learning environment. However, teachers at the International University Karlshochschule were welcoming and friendly. All of the students and teachers shared knowledge, experience with each other. I was able to take part in many activities, practical games of the class's lessons.

Vy Phuong quickly adapts to the new environment with the help from the teachers and friends in the International University Karlshochschule (Germany).

The course has provided me with much knowledge about the variety of cultures, ideas about a stable community, as well as cultural integration,...  During it, I enriched my knowledge from three different channels. First is lecturing, second is training, last is prototyping MUN (Model United Nations). The program also had many teachers, students, trainers from many different countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, Moroco, England, Spain, Thailand, Germany, Mexico,...
In MUN, we acted as a representative of a country partaking in the United Nations Security Council to offer a solution for an international problem. This training gave me many unforgettable learning experiences.
Especially, on the last weekend of the course, the organizer has allowed us for a tour at Heidelberg and Strasbourg (France). We had more time to talk about the course, the country, and our own universities.

Aside from studying, Vy Phuong was able to travel, sightseeing with her classmates.

Moreover, I was also provided with more information about DAAD’s scholarship sponsoring for community programs by my teachers. It is precious for those students like us. Hopefully, there will be more worthwhile activities to improve those programs for the community in Vietnam and Germany so that students from two schools UEF and Karlshochschule can make friends and do stuff together.
Thank UEF for giving me this big chance to join an extremely interesting and meaningful international course. Maybe this summer will be the most valuable and memorable summer of my student’s time.”
