In the Semester 2B of the 2023-2024 academic year, the Faculty of Business Administration, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) organized a field trip for students enrolled in the Quality Management course. The students visited the Yakult factory in Binh Duong Province, where they gained a wide range of valuable insights.
The trip promoted students’ dynamism, curiosity, proactive learning attitude, and ability to grasp real-world situations, helping them better adapt to future working environments within the UEF student community.
UEFers excited to observe the modern fermentation production and packaging line at Yakult factory
UEF students were highly enthusiastic and eager to visit Yakult in order to directly observe one of the most modern and professional fermented milk production and packaging lines in Vietnam. They also recognized that this was not merely an extracurricular activity, but a highly practical and application-oriented learning experience.
At Yakult, UEF students were warmly and enthusiastically guided by company staff through various activities, from touring the production process to watching engaging short videos about the invention of Yakult and the beneficial effects of fermented milk. Afterwards, students had the opportunity to directly taste Yakult products and were instructed on waste sorting for plastic bottles and packaging after use.
Many questions were clarified by specialists during the introductory sharing session
The most anticipated activity of the trip was the opportunity to directly observe Yakult’s closed-loop production technology and modern open-system facilities. In addition, to help students explore the microscopic world of microorganisms, Yakult provided microscopes for observing bacterial morphology and distinguishing beneficial and harmful bacteria in the human digestive system. UEFers expressed great excitement and were inspired by these discoveries at the company.
Furthermore, students were guided through the sterilization process of bottles, filling procedures, and labeling processes to create high-quality products that meet ISO standards. This helped students gain a clearer understanding of how each Yakult bottle they consume is actually produced in practice.
The modern and professional working environment at Yakult provided valuable practical lessons for UEFers
The company visit concluded with great satisfaction beyond expectations for FBA students at UEF. The trip provided valuable knowledge, reinforced theoretical learning, and enhanced students’ practical experience. Through this activity, students gained a clearer understanding of the application of technology in production, the professional operation of engineers on automated production lines, and modern working styles, while experiencing real-world lessons from Yakult Vietnam Co., Ltd.
