11/06/2025
In the context of rapid globalization and digital transformation, developing a modern leadership mindset has become essential for the younger workforce. To provide students with multidimensional perspectives on leadership in an international environment, the International Institute, in collaboration with the Faculty of Business Administration, organized the workshop “Global Leadership” on the morning of November 5.

The workshop enabled students to broaden their global leadership mindset in today’s context

At the event, students had the opportunity to gain insights from two distinguished speakers: Dr. Danielle Swanepoel – International Relations and Strategic Initiatives, George Mason University Korea, and Dr. Piotr Antoni Binkowski – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration.
The program was also attended by Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Vice President; Prof. Dr. Eric Jose Olmedo Panal – Director of the International Institute; Dr. Ly Dan Thanh – Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Dr. Nguyen Kim Thoa – Deputy Director of the International Institute; M.A. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Tien; M.A. Tran Hoang Nam – Vice Deans of the Faculty of Business Administration; along with faculty members and students.

Representatives of the organizing committee presented appreciation gifts to the speakers

In the first session, Dr. Danielle Swanepoel delivered a presentation on “Ethical Tech Management: Balancing Innovation and Responsibility.” She analyzed key ethical issues in technology management, particularly as organizations transition toward automation.
Dr. Swanepoel highlighted three essential ethical principles for leaders: creating value for all stakeholders—not just shareholders; ensuring transparency, sustainability, and accountability, especially when implementing technologies that impact the workforce; and fostering engagement and dialogue to support individuals affected by automation in adapting to change.

She also proposed a responsible action framework for businesses in the technological era, including upskilling employees, collaborating with technology partners, implementing data dashboards for monitoring, and maintaining transparent internal communication.
Continuing the program, Dr. Piotr Antoni Binkowski provided in-depth insights into global leadership competencies in the era of integration. He emphasized core capabilities that modern leaders should develop, including: cultural awareness for effective collaboration in multicultural environments; strategic vision aligned with global trends; adaptability in adjusting leadership styles across contexts; collaboration and communication to lead diverse teams; and data-driven decision-making to optimize organizational performance.

He also examined the role of technology in shaping emerging leadership styles. Technologies such as AI, blockchain, cloud computing, and digital collaboration platforms are transforming how organizations operate. However, adaptability and an innovative mindset remain the key differentiators of global leaders. He concluded by highlighting three foundational traits of leaders in the digital era: embracing innovation, fostering collaboration, and committing to lifelong learning.

Students attentively engaged with the session to expand their multidimensional knowledge

Through the “Global Leadership” workshop, UEF students not only gained access to globally relevant knowledge but were also inspired to cultivate responsibility, ethical awareness, and adaptability—essential qualities of next-generation leaders.
