NextGen Business Innovator 2026: UEFers Join High School students in Mastering “pick team” Strategies

04/09/2026
The journey of NextGen Business Innovator 2026 is steadily gaining momentum with strategically planned preparations. As student teams have now been officially formed, the next crucial task is to identify and select suitable high school students as “missing pieces” to complete each team’s composition.
In response to this need, on the morning of April 9, the Faculty of Business Administration organized an orientation session for participating teams, focusing on “pick team” strategies to ensure they are well-prepared for this critical step before entering the specialized competition rounds.
A dynamic and engaging orientation session delivering practical insights for the long road ahead.
NextGen Business Innovator 2026 is structured under a hybrid team model, in which each team consists of three UEF students, two high school students, and one mentor. Therefore, selecting the right members from the outset plays a decisive role in ensuring both operational effectiveness and the competitive performance of each team.
At the session, Mr. Tran Hoang Nam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, delivered a series of practical orientations, enabling UEF students to systematically approach the “pick team” process. Accordingly, each team will proactively visit high schools to introduce their projects and competition plans, thereby attracting suitable candidates to join. This process includes registering plans with the Organizing Committee, collecting candidate information, conducting interviews, and carrying out evaluations to identify high-potential applicants who meet the team’s requirements.
Mr. Tran Hoang Nam, shared “pick team” strategies with student teams.
In addition to the procedures, recruitment strategies and candidate outreach scenarios were also shared in detail. Students were guided on how to communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively, while establishing selection criteria aligned with their project orientations. Key principles in the interview process from formulating questions to assessing candidates’ competencies and attitudes were emphasized to ensure objectivity and effectiveness throughout the selection process.
Another important aspect highlighted was professional conduct when engaging with high school students. Teams are required to maintain professionalism, respect, and transparency in all interactions, placing the interests and experiences of participants at the forefront.
The session also allocated time to address questions related to the competition’s regulations and road map, enabling teams to gain a clear understanding of the requirements and better prepare for the next stage. Once each team finalizes its five-member lineup, the final “piece of the puzzle” the mentor will be officially revealed, marking the beginning of an intensive training phase and an exciting competitive journey ahead.
UEF students received thorough guidance and clarifications regarding upcoming activities.
With clear and practical orientations, the session has equipped teams with the essential foundation to enter this critical phase of the competition. Selecting the right members will serve as a prerequisite for each team to develop effective project strategies, while also contributing to the creation of impact projects at NextGen Business Innovator 2026.
