From Classroom To Practical Experience: UEFers Cultivate A Global Citizen Mindset In South Korea

Following the journey of the international semester at Tongmyong University (South Korea), UEF students have completed their second week with numerous meaningful academic activities and cultural experiences. Alongside acquiring knowledge in an international environment, they continue to expand their global perspectives, practice integration skills, and step-by-step clearly shape the mindset of a global citizen.

UEFers quickly adapt and confidently explore the unique features of South Korea during their 2nd week.

During the past week, students participated in the Global Citizenship course. The subject content helped learners thoroughly understand their roles in relation to the community and the world, while equipping them with necessary mindsets, knowledge, and skills to study and work effectively in a multicultural environment as well as participate in solving global issues.

In charge of teaching the course was an international lecturer from Tongmyong University. During his time accompanying the UEF student delegation, he highly appreciated their serious learning spirit, proactiveness, and positive attitude. He shared: "I am truly impressed by the learning motivation, active participation spirit, discipline, and enthusiasm of UEF students toward international education programs. Academic exchange programs like this contribute to fostering cross-cultural understanding, enhancing knowledge sharing, and opening up numerous opportunities for students to develop global capabilities."

According to the lecturer, short-term international training programs not only help learners access advanced education but also create conditions to develop practical skills and broaden mindsets in highly applicable fields such as global business, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, financial technology, and many future industries.

The international lecturer is strongly impressed by the positive learning spirit of UEF students.

In parallel with classroom lectures, UEFers excitedly explored the unique features of Busan city through a series of practical experiential activities. They were introduced to many famous landmarks such as the Haeundae area with the colorful Blue Line Park coastal train and Sky Capsule, or the vibrant Gwangalli Beach—famous for drone light shows that attract large crowds of tourists. Each destination brought memorable experiences and helped students better understand the culture, tourism, and lifestyle of the local people.

Combining classroom learning with practical experiential activities created an interactive learning environment, helping students bridge knowledge with practice and improve their adaptability in the context of globalization.

The international semester journey in South Korea still has many exciting activities ahead. With the foundation of knowledge, skills, and experiences accumulated through each study week, UEF students are step-by-step completing their integration toolkits, ready to become competent, resilient, and innovative global citizens in the future.
