UEF Signs MOU with Mila University – Malaysia, Expanding the Southeast Asian Academic Network

As part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen the internationalization of education, on the afternoon of May 29, UEF officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic collaboration with Mila University – a prestigious private higher education institution in Malaysia.

The MOU signing ceremony between UEF and Mila University marked the expansion of UEF’s educational partnerships in Malaysia.

Representing UEF at the virtual ceremony were Dr. Đỗ Hữu Nguyên Lộc – Vice President; Dr. Hà Thị Thủy – Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting; Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Lâm, MA – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting; and Dr. Nguyễn Kim Thoa – Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education.

On behalf of Mila University, participants included Prof. Jason Fitzsimmons – Vice Chancellor; Prof. Graham Kendall – Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research and Enterprise; Prof. Lee Chew Ging – Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs and Dean of the School of Management and Business; Ms. Wong Siew Fong – Assistant Vice Chancellor, Research and Ranking; and Ms. Chaniss Khoo – Assistant Manager, International Student Relations.

The signing of the MOU represents an important milestone in expanding the academic cooperation network, aiming to enhance the quality of education and student experiences in line with international standards.

The collaboration contents were discussed by representatives of the two universities.

According to the agreement, UEF and Mila University will collaborate in a variety of meaningful initiatives, including faculty and student exchange programs, short-term study programs, international academic conferences and seminars, joint research projects, academic publications, and academic development across multiple fields such as finance, accounting, business, communication, technology, and the social sciences.

During the ceremony, representatives from both universities expressed their hope for a strong and long-term partnership, with the implementation of high-quality programs benefiting both faculty and students.

The collaboration between UEF and Mila University is expected to deliver sustainable values in practical training, strengthen foreign language competence, and equip students from both institutions with the confidence to integrate into the global academic and professional environment.
