Plus 3: Vietnam - Summer 2025 opens up opportunities for UEFers to learn, connect, and experience internationally
Right from the early hours, the selection event welcomed the presence of 33 UEFers from various faculties and majors. Each participant came well-prepared and demonstrated a progressive spirit as they stepped into the interview round. This was an opportunity for candidates to showcase their language proficiency, problem-solving skills, and understanding of Vietnamese culture—while also expressing their aspiration to become a bridge connecting UEFers with international peers.

The interview panel shared important criteria in the volunteer selection process
This year’s interview panel included Ms. Chu Ngoc Anh Thu – International Cooperation Officer at the International Institute; Mr. Nguyen Nhat Minh – International Cooperation Officer at the International Institute; and representatives from the International Exchange Friends (IEF) Club. With extensive experience in organizing international exchange activities at UEF, the panel members posed practical and thought-provoking questions to fairly assess the candidates’ capabilities.
According to the organizers, what made the interviews particularly impressive was the candidates’ English proficiency, proactive attitude, confident demeanor, and eagerness to integrate into an international environment. Those selected will be worthy representatives, helping to promote the image of friendly, dynamic, and globally-minded Vietnamese students.

Candidates confidently express themselves in the interview round
As part of the Plus 3 program, students from the University of Pittsburgh will study, experience, and engage in exchanges at UEF starting from May 11, 2025, for two weeks. UEF volunteers will provide support throughout the program—not only in academic sessions covering Vietnamese culture, economy, and environment—but also by accompanying the international students on company visits, sports exchanges, culinary experiences, and daily life explorations in Ho Chi Minh City. This will be an ideal environment for UEFers to improve their foreign language skills, enhance global thinking, and gain rich cultural experiences.
