UEF renews partnership with Higher School of Economics (Russia) to strengthen international learning

MARCH 6 – UEF held a working session and officially renewed its cooperation agreement with Higher School of Economics – National Research University (HSE University Saint Petersburg, Russian), continuing the enduring partnership first established between the two institutions in 2023. The event marks a new milestone in UEF’s internationalization strategy, aiming to further expand opportunities for international learning, research collaboration, and academic exchange for both students and faculty members.

Representing HSE were Prof. Maria Kiseleva – Head of the International Office, and Dr. Nina Grigoreva, Head of the Department for Chinese, South and Southeast Asian Studies, Institute of Asian and African Studies.
The UEF delegation included Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Vice President; Dr. Phan Bao Giang – Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Marketing; Prof. Dr. Eric Jose Olmedo Panal – Director of the UEF International Institute; Dr. Piotr Antoni Binkowski – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Dr. Nguyen Kim Thoa and Mr. Nguyen Ba Anh – Deputy Directors of the UEF International Institute, along with faculty members from the Institute.

During the working session, representatives of the two universities discussed potential areas for further collaboration in education and research. According to proposals from HSE University Saint Petersburg, both parties plan to implement a range of initiatives, including student exchange programs, double-degree programs, international summer schools, and academic research activities for students. Notably, the summer school programs scheduled for 2026, featuring engaging topics such as New Economic Drivers for Company and Accounting is Fun: Financial Reporting from A to Z, are expected to provide valuable opportunities for students to access international knowledge and gain diverse learning experiences.
UEF and HSE signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
The two institutions also discussed the possibility of facilitating student participation in international scientific conferences, as well as developing blended academic initiatives that integrate both online and in-person formats in key disciplines such as economics, management, finance, data analytics, and regional studies. These initiatives are expected to foster a multicultural academic environment while further expanding research and academic development opportunities for UEF students.
 
According to information shared by HSE University Saint Petersburg, the university currently offers a wide range of graduate programs in disciplines such as Data Analytics for Business and Economics, Finance, Strategic Management of Logistics and Supply Chains, Arts and Culture Management, and International Business in the Asia-Pacific Region. These programs are delivered in both English and Russian, creating promising opportunities for future academic collaboration, student exchange, and research partnerships between the two institutions.

The renewal and expansion of the partnership with HSE University Saint Petersburg further reaffirm UEF’s strong commitment to advancing the internationalization of education. This collaboration opens up broader opportunities for students to engage in global learning, academic exchange, and exposure to international educational environments. Through a diverse range of cooperative programs, UEF aims to equip students with a solid foundation of knowledge, essential skills, and a global mindset, enabling them to effectively meet the demands of professional development in an increasingly integrated and interconnected world.
