Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoob Murshed  is Professor of the Economics of Conflict and Peace at the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands, and is also Professor of Economics at Coventry University in the UK. He was the first holder of the rotating Prince Claus Chair in Development and Equity in 2003.
He was a Research Fellow at UNU/WIDER in Helsinki where he ran Projects on Globalization and Vulnerable Economies and Why Some Countries Avoid Conflict, While Others Fail. He also ran a project on The Two Economies of Ireland, financed by the International Fund for Ireland at the Northern Ireland Economic Research Centre (NIERC), Belfast. Prior to this he worked at the Universities of Birmingham, Bradford and Surrey in the UK. He can be regarded to have a truly international academic reputation for his research on the economics of conflict (especially the role of horizontal inequality), the resource curse (how natural resource dependence impacts on institutional quality) and aid conditionality (adverse selection, moral hazard and signaling games).
He is the author of eight books (including Explaining Civil War, Edward Elgar, 2010 and The Resource Curse, 2018) and over 150 book chapters and journal articles. His research interests are in the economics of conflict, aid conditionality, political economy, macroeconomics and international economics.
 
Dr. Rakesh Gupta works at Charles Darwin University and teaches Finance and Investments including portfolio construction at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Gupta has an extensive research portfolio and has published more than 70 papers in journals of international standing. His research is frequently cited in academic journals and professional publications including class action litigation against Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (by Labaton Sucharow during 2008). He has presented his research findings at world renowned conferences and been invited for presenting seminars frequently. He has been among top 10% authors for downloaded papers on SSRN
He is frequently invited to present seminars by universities worldwide, e.g. University of St Thomas and Baruch College in the USA. Renmin University, Xiamen University, Dalian University of Technology, Nankai University and North East Petroleum University in China and Indian Institute of Management in India. He is currently a non-resident senior research fellow at Chongyang Institute of Financial Studies at Renmin University Beijing an independent think tank; HaiTian scholar at Dalian University of technology; visiting Professor at Banking University of HCMC, Vietnam and University of Economics HCMC, Vietnam.
Dr. Gupta completed his undergraduate degree in science (B.Sc.), prior to completing an MBA in finance, M.Com in accounting & finance and earning a doctorate (PhD) with his research in the emerging market diversification. Dr Gupta is also a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
 
Dr. Umair Tanveer is an Associate Professor in Operations Management at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, and a Visiting Professor at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF). He joined Exeter Business School in 2022, following previous academic appointments in the United Kingdom, and his work focuses on sustainable supply chains, circular economy systems, and the role of digital technologies in transforming operations and value creation. 
He earned his PhD in Operations Management from the University of Northampton and brings a blend of academic and industry experience to his teaching and research. Over the course of his career, he has held senior academic roles and developed a strong international research profile in operations and supply chain management. 
Dr. Tanveer has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals and is actively engaged in advancing scholarship at the intersection of sustainability, logistics, and innovation. His recent academic and editorial activities reflect a particular interest in regenerative and circular supply chain systems, as well as the strategic use of digital technologies to enable sustainable transformation. 
Alongside his research, Dr. Tanveer is deeply committed to teaching, academic mentorship, and international collaboration. His profile reflects a strong dedication to supporting students, building cross-institutional partnerships, and contributing to impactful research and professional engagement in operations management.
 

 Prof. Dr. Hooi Hooi Lean 

Prof. Dr. Hooi Hooi Lean is a distinguished economist whose work has earned wide recognition across research, academic leadership, and international scholarly service. Trained in economics and statistics at the University of Malaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia and the National University of Singapore, she has built an academic profile that combines strong quantitative training with sustained work in energy and environmental economics, financial economics, Asia-Pacific and Chinese economics, and applied econometrics.

Over the course of her career at Universiti Sains Malaysia, where she served as Professor of Economics and later Honorary Professor, she taught across undergraduate and postgraduate programs while also contributing to research supervision, institutional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her scholarly output includes books, edited volumes, book chapters and a large body of journal publications, supported by major citation records across Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science and RePEc rankings.

Professor Lean’s achievements have been recognized through distinctions such as Malaysia’s National Academic Award, Malaysia’s Research Star Award, Top Research Scientists Malaysia, and repeated inclusion in Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists in the World. Beyond Malaysia, she has expanded her academic reach through teaching, fellowships, advisory roles, and editorial appointments linked to institutions and journals across Asia, Europe, and Australia, reinforcing her standing as an internationally engaged scholar in economics and applied quantitative research.
