UEF x Kyungwoon University - Korea: signs MOU, continuing to expand international partner network

Consistent with the aim of internationalization in education, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) is continuously seeking and cooperating with prestigious partners worldwide. This has facilitated UEFers and international students to connect, exchange, and learn from each other, improving job opportunities as well as experiencing various fascinating cultures.

AUGUST 23 - UEF held an MOU signing ceremony with Kyungwoon University - South Korea, continuing to expand international cooperation activities. This cooperative partnership promises to open up many beneficial learning, exchange, and extracurricular activities for students from both universities in the future.

Representing UEF at the ceremony were Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - Vice President, Board of Management and Director of UEF International Institute; Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh - Deputy Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures; and Ms. Huynh Tu Anh - Deputy Director of UEF International Institute.

This ceremony also had the honor of welcoming representatives from Kyungwoon University: Ms. Yu-Young Chun - Chief Director of Institute of International Affairs and Education; Mr. Jeong-Sik Min - Director of Industry-University Research; Mr. Min-ho Choi - Senior Researcher of Institute of International Affairs and Education; and Mr. Seung-Ho Lee - CEO, JS Service Trading Investment Co., Ltd.
 

Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc introduced UEF's internationally-oriented educational environment  


To commence the signing ceremony, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc provided an overview of UEF and expressed the hope that the cooperation partnership between the two universities would pave the way for new opportunities, enabling students to achieve more comprehensive development in the context of globalization.

On behalf of Kyungwoon University, Ms. Yu-Young Chun expressed her honor in cooperating with UEF. She noted that, along with the robust development of Vietnam's education system, this cooperation would bring about numerous outstanding advantages for students from the two countries.

Besides, Ms. Yu-Young Chun also expressed her gratitude to UEF faculty and staff for their warm support and hospitality towards South Korea students.

During the discussion, representatives from the two universities approved plans for future cooperation agreements. Some notable contents include: Facilitating student and faculty exchanges to support teaching and research for both staff and students; developing programs and courses for mutual benefit; supporting the coordination of activities such as research, teaching, and training; exchanging information, documents, and materials on areas of mutual interest; etc.

After the MOU signing ceremony, the Global Start-up 2023 competition was also officially launched. This is an academic activity organized by UEF in collaboration with Kyungwoon University, Dong Thap University, and Van Lang University with the aim of connecting students from both countries, enabling them to develop skills and enhance their knowledge, as well as realize their startup ideas.

At Global Start-up 2023, 5 teams had 20 minutes to present their pre-prepared start-up ideas. Overall, the students effectively highlighted the current state of the issue in their reports, provided detailed explanations of their startup concepts, and applied the SWOT model to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their chosen topics.

At the end of each presentation, the teams received comments and suggestions and discussed with the Board of Examiners to improve their project.

In addition to learning from the experiences and ideas of the other teams during the competition, students also gained useful information from the judges regarding various aspects of entrepreneurship in South Korea. Through interesting sharing about the history of formation, different start-up models, and current trends among young entrepreneurs in South Korea, UEFers accumulated many valuable lessons and perspectives for themselves.
 

The competition brings many useful benefits for students at two universities


The signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement between UEF and Kyungwoon University concluded successfully. With this milestone, UEF continues to expand its international partner network, helping students have more effective learning conditions, cultural experiences, and language training.
