1. Program Overview
The E-Commerce undergraduate program at the University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City (UEF) was officially established in 2016 under the Decision on the issuance of the training major code No. 854/QĐ-BGDĐT dated March 22, 2016 by the Ministry of Education and Training. The program is managed by the Faculty of Information Systems and Commerce (now the Faculty of Information Technology) and is implemented under a high-quality training model.
The first student intake took place in 2016. From 2017 onward (2017, 2018, 2019), the curriculum has been regularly reviewed and updated based on feedback from stakeholders, including lecturers, students, and employers, and evaluated and approved by the University’s Scientific Council.
Although many universities offer E-Commerce programs, UEF continues to attract students in this field due to the following advantages:

2. General Objectives
The program aims to train E-Commerce graduates with strong political awareness, professional ethics, and good physical health; solid and in-depth knowledge and skills in E-Commerce; and the ability to participate in strategic planning, policy formulation, business planning, and operational management of E-Commerce enterprises.
Graduates possess broad and well-oriented theoretical knowledge combined with strong practical competencies. They are able to adapt to a diverse and constantly changing market economy, integrate into advanced technological environments at regional and global levels, and have a solid academic foundation for lifelong learning and postgraduate studies.

3. Specific Objectives
Graduates of the E-Commerce program are expected to achieve the following outcomes:
Knowledge
- PO1: Fundamental knowledge of natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, political theory, Vietnamese law, national defense and security, and physical education.
- PO2: Fundamental and advanced theoretical knowledge of E-Commerce to effectively adapt to various roles such as applying IT in business, marketing, and developing comprehensive E-Commerce solutions for enterprises.

Skills
- PO3: Teamwork skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and the ability for self-learning and independent research to meet practical demands.
- PO4: Skills in applying IT to electronic payment systems, information security, online business, and digital marketing.

4. Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
- PLO1: Apply foundational knowledge of mathematics, political theory, social sciences and humanities, Vietnamese law, national defense and security; demonstrate awareness and ability for physical self-development.
- PLO2: Apply foundational knowledge of information technology and commerce to adapt to various roles such as theoretical research, model development, E-Commerce solution design, consulting, management, advanced research, and rapid adoption of emerging technologies.

Graduates of the E-Commerce program can pursue careers such as:
- Consultants and specialists in strategic planning, policy development, design, and maintenance of IT projects related to E-Commerce or electronic business management.
- Specialists in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, development and management of online transaction systems and digital business platforms in organizations and enterprises (public administration, banking, telecommunications, aviation, construction, etc.).
- Managers and specialists in consulting, analysis, design, development, and deployment of E-Commerce systems; digital advertising; customer relationship management; and electronic marketing in socio-economic organizations.
