UEF launches UniHackfest 2026, opening a nationwide journey for students to conquer AI and Web3

The event drew participation from experts, tech enterprises, faculty members and a broad student body.

Attending the program, on behalf of UEF, were Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President; Dr. Van Thi Thien Trang - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology; Ms. Hoang Thi Hang - Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, along with faculty members and numerous students.

Representing accompanying units and guests were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Anh - Director of the UNESCO Center for Science, Technology and Investment Development Consulting; Mr. Thai Pham Ngoc Tuong - Founder of Corelia Academy; Ms. Phan Nguyen Mai Anh - Co-Founder of Corelia Academy; Ms. Jenny Nguyen - Head of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships at MEXC Ventures; Mr. Pham Minh Tuan - External Developer Advocate at the Solana Foundation; Mr. Cris Tran - Core-Contributor at Open Campus, Co-Founder & CGO of MoneyFi & S.H.E Blockchain; Mr. Mai Thanh Nha - Developer Expert at Chainlink Labs, Founder of OLYM3; Mr. Le Duc Thinh - Business Development Lead at CommandOSS; Mr. Dat Le - Builder at the Solana Foundation; Mr. Anh Tuan - Co-founder of LazorKit, alongside representatives from partner universities and colleges.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri emphasized that UniHackfest 2026 is organized with the goal of creating an academic and technological playground for students nationwide, helping learners access emerging technology trends such as AI, Blockchain, and Web3 in a practical environment. Through the competition, students not only have the opportunity to enhance their professional, research, and creative capabilities but also connect with businesses and technology experts, thereby expanding future career opportunities.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Anh shared that in the digital era, young people should not merely act as technology consumers, but need to become those who understand, master, and create technology. According to him, developing AI capabilities, innovative thinking, digital skills, and a lifelong learning spirit form the foundation for Vietnam's younger generation to confidently integrate internationally. The representative of the UNESCO Center for Science, Technology and Investment Development Consulting also expressed hope that UniHackfest 2026 will help spark the spirit of daring to learn, experiment, and innovate among students, thereby applying technology to create positive values for the community and society.

During the launch ceremony, Mr. Thai Pham Ngoc Tuong provided an overview of the competition along with a 14-week roadmap designed around practice-based learning and product development. Participating students will experience activities such as UniTour, Bootcamp Learning, Digital Assets Market, Solana Bootcamp, presentation skill classes, intensive mentoring workshops, preliminary rounds, Demo Day, and various networking activities with experts and businesses in the tech ecosystem. This is considered a comprehensive journey to help learners gradually refine ideas, build products, and access a professional innovation environment.

Students also listened to valuable professional insights from domestic and international technology experts. Joining online from South Korea, Ms. Chaerin Kim - Developer Relations Specialist at the Solana Foundation - shared on the topic "The Solana Builder Ecosystem," offering a panoramic view of the Solana development ecosystem and opportunities for young developers in the region.

Additionally, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan presented "Building on Solana: Why Now, Why Vietnam." From the perspective of an expert directly involved in developing the Solana ecosystem, the speaker analyzed Vietnam's advantages in the global technology race while sharing career opportunities for students in blockchain and Web3.

Representing MEXC Ventures, Ms. Jenny Nguyen shared insights on "Digital Assets: The New Wave of Technology," analyzing the development trends of digital assets and the opportunities that blockchain technology opens up for the younger generation. Meanwhile, Mr. Cris Tran introduced the Edu Chain model and digital certificate systems, helping students better visualize the application potential of blockchain technology in education and human resource development.

Before concluding the launch ceremony, the interactive session attracted enthusiastic participation from numerous students with questions concerning the development trends of AI and Web3, tech career opportunities, and practical project development experience.
