04/19/2024

UEF has long emphasized work-integrated learning especially for the tourism, hospitality, and restaurant majors. Recently, many company tours and field trips have been continuously organized not only in Vietnam but also worldwide.

APRIL 11 to 16, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management organized the "Tour Guide Practice Pre - Internship" with many beneficial activities for Tourism and Travel Services Management students. They had the opportunity to visit and study in three countries: Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Students discovered numerous new aspects at different destinations in the three countries

During this trip, students had the opportunity to explore and learn about the culture, history, and geography while practicing tourism skills and experiencing local cuisine at various destinations.

In the island nation of Singapore, they visited various places such as Gardens by the Bay, Merlion Park, Esplanade Theatres, Parliament House, Victoria Theatre, Sentosa Island, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, etc.

On Batam Island (Indonesia), students visited Maha Vihara Duta Temple and gained insights into Batik fabric and indigenous culture. In Malaysia, they explored attractions such as Dutch Square, Christ Church, St. Paul's Church, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple in Malacca, Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur, Independence Square, Royal Palace, National Monument, Batu Caves, Petronas Twin Towers, Saloma Bridge, Putrajaya new federal administrative capital, etc.

Students honed their practical skills and gained valuable experience through the international field trips

Alongside sightseeing activities, the field trip helped students gain practical experience and accumulate valuable skills for various job positions such as outbound tour guides, tour design, tour operation, sales, customer care, etc. Additionally, students honed their public speaking skills, situation handling, organization skills, time management, and adaptability to new environments. They also gain international travel experience and expertise in immigration procedures for both maritime and aviation.
The journey through three countries was also an opportunity for students to explore new things together, strengthen their bonds, share experiences, and foster mutual understanding. With the valuable lessons and experiences from the program, it is believed that students majoring in Tourism and Travel Services Management at UEF have been equipped with a solid skill foundation and are confident in practicing and developing their profession for the future.
