On June 29, the Faculty of Law organised the graduation thesis evaluation committee for students majoring in Law, Economic Law, and International Law. Reflecting their academic journey, the students were highly commended for demonstrating strong practical applicability in their research topics.
At the opening of each evaluation session, a representative of the committee announced the decision on the establishment of the graduation thesis evaluation committee, including the composition and number of committee members, the number of students scheduled for defence, as well as the students’ academic achievements and study performance throughout the process of conducting their theses.
During the evaluation sessions, the students sequentially presented a summary of their research content and findings within a 10 - minute time limit and and defended their findings against inquiries from the committee members
Nearly 10 graduation theses from Faculty of Law students were officially evaluated and approved.
For the Economic Law major, the evaluation committee was established comprising Master Vũ Anh Sao - Vice Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Economic Law programme; Dr. Giản Thị Lê Na - Lecturer; Master Nguyễn Thị Xuân Mai - Lecturer; Master Phạm Huỳnh Bảo Oanh - Lecturer; Master Nguyễn Đức Trí - Lecturer; and Master Văn Thị Hồng Nhung - Lecturer.
Within this major, five graduation thesis topics were defended, including: (1) Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities under Vietnamese Labour Law – Current Situation and Solutions by Trần Thanh Quan; (2) Legal Regulations on Non - Compete Agreements in Labour Relations – International Experience and Lessons for Vietnam by Phạm Thị Thanh Thủy; (3) Competition-Restricting Agreements under Vietnamese Law by Trần Huyền Trang; (4) European Union Law on the Legal Status of Artificial Intelligence and Legislative Experience for Vietnam by Hồ Thị Lâm; and (5) Compensation for Damage Caused by Sources of Increased Danger by Đặng Thanh Anh Dũ.
Students confidently presented their research findings following the completion of their graduation theses.
For the Law and International Law majors, the evaluation committee comprised Master Vũ Anh Sao - Vice Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Economic Law programme; Dr. Nguyễn Thị Thu Trang - Vice Dean of the Faculty; Master Nguyễn Nam Trung - Assistant to the Dean; Master Phó Hưng Bình - Head of the International Law programme; and Master Văn Thị Hồng Nhung - Lecturer.
The defended graduation theses included: (1) Law on Emissions – Current Situation and Legal Recommendations by Ngô Kiều Ninh; (2) The Legal Regime of Artificial Islands in the Context of Sea Level Rise by Nguyễn Ngọc Nhã Can; (3) Establishing Intellectual Property Rights over Non-Commercial Trademarks by Đặng Khương Thiên Anh; and (4) The Current Situation of the Crime of Violating Competition Regulations in Vietnam by Hoàng Minh Châu.
The Committee monitored the presentations and provided constructive feedback on the graduation theses.
After each presentation, the Evaluation Committee conducted assessments and provided comments and critiques. Overall, the thesis topics were closely aligned with pressing practical needs of society and were highly appreciated by the Committee. Nevertheless, several theses still revealed certain limitations relating to formatting, research questions, research objectives, and reference materials. Therefore, students are required to revise and improve their theses in accordance with the Committee’s feedback in order to further enhance the quality of their work.
Congratulations to the Law Faculty students of the 2020 cohort on the successful defense of their graduation theses. This achievement represents a noteworthy outcome of four years of dedicated study and research. It is hoped that the students will continue to refine and develop themselves, building upon the solid foundation of knowledge provided by UEF.
