Linking Research with Practice: Graduate Projects & Doctoral Specializations Receive High Recognition

On the morning of OCTOBER 30, the UEF Graduate Education Institute convened the Evaluation Council for master’s graduation projects and doctoral thematic papers for learners and doctoral candidates in the Business Administration program. This marks an important milestone, acknowledging the research efforts and dedicated academic journey of the candidates after an extended period of accumulating knowledge and practical experience.

The graduate students presented the Evaluation Council with a series of research projects demonstrating strong practical relevance, addressing current challenges in business management and economic activity. Topics ranged from enhancing customer service quality in the healthcare and banking sectors, motivating employee performance, to credit risk management and human resource development during periods of organizational transformation. Each project exemplified the effort to bridge theory and practice, offering actionable solutions to real-world challenges faced by businesses and institutions.
Notably, several projects delved deeply into human factors in management, such as retaining Gen Z talent in enterprises or developing human resources at major hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, reflecting the students’ keen insight into post-pandemic workforce dynamics. The evaluation panel highly commended the practical applicability, meticulous effort, and the students’ ability to adapt research models effectively to the Vietnamese context.

In the same session, doctoral candidates in Business Administration defended their second research module, titled “The Impact of Team Segmentation and Creative Work Environments on Employee Knowledge Sharing: A Study of Travel and Tourism Enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City.”
Adopting an innovative approach, the study examines the relationship between organizational structure, creative culture, and knowledge-sharing behaviors which are key factors in human resource management in the knowledge economy era. The review committee recognized the logical, scientific rigor and practical applicability of the research, while providing expert feedback to help the doctoral candidate refine the theoretical model and lay a solid foundation for the next phase of the study.

During the defense of Research Topic 2, the doctoral candidate clearly presented the research methodology, developed the theoretical model, and elaborated the measurement scales, demonstrating a structured and rigorous approach to the study
Throughout the session, each research project was meticulously evaluated in terms of scientific rigor, practical applicability, and potential for real-world implementation. The review panel offered candid, detailed feedback on problem framing, research methodology, and suggested improvements to elevate the overall quality of the work. Several projects were recognized for their depth, timeliness, and the independent thinking demonstrated by the students. The panel also acknowledged the learners’ dedication, diligent research attitude, and their capacity to analyze and apply findings flexibly in practical contexts.

The master’s thesis and doctoral research proposal defenses marked a significant milestone, concluding an intensive period of academic pursuit while ushering in a new phase—one focused on applying knowledge to practical management, fostering innovative thinking, and contributing meaningfully to the business community. The outcomes clearly reflect UEF’s postgraduate education philosophy, which integrates rigorous scholarship with practical application, positioning research as the foundation for developing professional expertise and leadership acumen.
