What is the digital economy?


The digital economy is understood as an economy that operates primarily based on digital technology, especially electronic transactions conducted via the Internet. A digital economy is one where organizational models and operating methods are based on the application of digital technology on the foundation of internet development, and human creativity is the main resource and driving force for the entire economy. The digital economy refers to economic activities arising from the connection of individuals, businesses, devices, data, and activities through digital technology.
 
The Digital Economy program at the Faculty of Economics - UEF aims to train students with a career orientation, providing comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of the digital economy and digital business compatible with the trend of international integration and the development of information technology applications in business and management; capable of independent and creative thinking to meet the requirements of the international labor market, in line with the orientation of global citizens. Students are socially responsible and possess a solid foundation of knowledge to continue their studies and research at a higher level.
In addition to fundamental knowledge of big data, information technology, and economic management, students are also equipped with specialized subjects in the Digital Economy field such as: Artificial Intelligence Applications in Economics, Digital Finance, Digital Citizenship, Global Citizenship, Digital Business Operations, Digital Communication and Marketing, Digital Government, Business Models in the Digital Environment, Business in the Global Environment, and E-commerce. These subjects help students grasp the digital transformation trends of organizations and businesses in the digital age to solve problems related to digital transformation and digital business in enterprises and organizations.
 
The objectives of the Digital Economy training program are:
  • PO1 (Knowledge): Provides learners with basic knowledge of natural sciences, political science, and law; foundational and in-depth knowledge of professional skills and expertise in the field of digital economy and digital business compatible with the national institutional environment, application of technology and data security in digital business and digital economy operations ; and necessary supplementary knowledge to meet job requirements .
  • PO2 (Skills): Equipping and training learners with practical professional skills in establishing, implementing, and controlling business plans that incorporate digital transformation in diverse cultural contexts; applying specialized and interdisciplinary knowledge to solve real-world problems; communication, teamwork, and global integration skills .
  • PO3 (Level of Autonomy and Responsibility): To cultivate and develop in learners a sense of professional ethics and community responsibility; the ability to think independently, creatively, and collaboratively with others in learning, research, and work; to adapt to a multicultural and integrated work environment; and to become global citizens.
Suitable qualities : Passionate about economics and information technology , and business activities; able to gather and process information related to domestic and international economic situations to provide appropriate solutions and problem-solving; proficient in foreign languages, negotiation, and persuasion; able to work independently and under pressure; creative and willing to learn; passionate about technology.
