Following In Her Sister’s Footsteps: 2008-Born Student Begins Her UEF Journey With Confidence

Some choices are made after countless rounds of research, comparison, and careful consideration. Others become easier when there is someone who has already walked the path, experienced it firsthand, and is willing to share that journey through her own story. For Nguyen Quynh Mai, a 2008-born student, choosing Business Administration at UEF was a decision built on exactly that kind of trust. The person who gave her greater confidence was her older sister, Nguyen Thuy Quynh, a newly graduated Bachelor of Business Administration who is set to graduate this August.

From a shy and hesitant freshman, Thuy Quynh gradually grew through classroom learning, presentations, teamwork, and the support of her lecturers. Four years later, she became the person guiding her younger sister through the gates of UEF, continuing a journey that she herself had once begun.

From Her Sister’s Experience to Her Own Choice

Looking back on her first days at UEF, Thuy Quynh remembers herself as a freshman who was still unfamiliar with university life. Today, she stands beside her younger sister as someone who has gone before, directly guiding her through the first steps in the environment where she spent her university years.

For Quynh Mai, choosing UEF was not based solely on information from brochures or general introductions. She had a “living example” within her own family who could answer her questions about the learning environment, lecturers, student activities, and what she could expect during the next four years.

“My sister studied here, so I felt more confident about my decision. She had such wonderful experiences during her university years and found the quality of education to be very good, so I didn’t have to think too much before making my choice,” Quynh Mai shared.

That confidence was further reinforced on admission day. From the moment she entered the campus until she completed the enrollment procedures, she experienced the thoughtfulness and dedication of the University’s admission counseling team. Clear instructions were provided at every step, with staff members readily available to assist, helping the new student quickly become familiar with her new environment.

This year, Quynh Mai officially joined UEF to study Business Administration with a 10% Family Scholarship. For her, however, this journey carries a special meaning that few students have the opportunity to experience: taking her first steps under the guidance of a sister who once began her own journey at the very same place.

Four Years That Strengthened a Sister’s Trust

“Looking back, I feel that I have changed quite a lot. I used to lack confidence when giving presentations, but throughout my studies and with guidance from my lecturers, I have become much more proactive. It wasn’t just professional knowledge; I also developed many life skills through each experience,” Thuy Quynh shared.

Thuy Quynh also expressed her appreciation for the lecturers who taught her, particularly for their expertise, enthusiasm, and care for students. She also valued UEF’s modern facilities and clean, comfortable learning spaces, which contributed to a positive university experience.

After four years, these experiences became the foundation for Thuy Quynh’s confident recommendation. Just as UEF had helped her grow, she hopes that her younger sister will have the opportunity to experience the same environment and create a journey of her own.

Introducing and recommending UEF to her younger sister is, therefore, more than simply sharing a university choice. It is the genuine recommendation of someone who has experienced the environment firsthand and trusts it enough to pass that confidence on to a loved one.

Continuing a Bright Journey from Sister to Sister

Perhaps what moved Thuy Quynh most on this special day was not simply seeing her younger sister officially become a UEF freshman, but also the feeling of looking back at herself four years ago. It was still UEF, with the same familiar spaces, yet her role had changed.

From a shy freshman, Thuy Quynh is now about to become a Bachelor of Business Administration. Meanwhile, Quynh Mai is just beginning her own journey. The two sisters stand at different points along the same path, connected by one shared destination: UEF.

As she embarks on this new chapter, Quynh Mai hopes, “I want to not only do well in my studies but also step outside my comfort zone, take part in extracurricular activities and events, and embrace the diverse experiences at UEF, just as my sister did.”

Through her sister’s journey, she has come to understand that growth during four years of university does not come solely from classroom lessons. It also comes from taking on new challenges, embracing unfamiliar experiences, and navigating situations that encourage each person to grow independently.

The new student hopes to have the courage to fully embrace UEF’s dynamic learning environment.

“There may be times when I feel like I ‘have to study’ or do things I have never done before, but I think those experiences will help me become more confident and mature,” Thuy Quynh shared.

One sister is about to complete her four-year university journey, while the other is just beginning hers. Between these two milestones lies a beautiful continuation. Thuy Quynh has given her younger sister not simply a university choice, but the confidence built through her own journey of growth.
