On the morning of January 9, the Office of Science, Technology and International Projects convened a council meeting to evaluate faculty research proposals for the 2023–2024 academic year (Phase 1). The session was chaired by Dr. Ngo Minh Hai – Vice President of the University. Out of 23 submitted proposals, 18 were approved following the Council’s evaluation and discussion.

The evaluation council was chaired by Dr. Ngo Minh Hai and included members: Dr. Ly Dan Thanh – Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Dr. Nguyen Ha Giang – Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Hung – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Marketing; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan – Deputy Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Projects; Dr. Le Vu Huong Giang – Deputy Chief of Office; along with MSc. Truong Thi Dung as Secretary.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ngo Minh Hai outlined key criteria for selecting research proposals, emphasizing novelty, feasibility, alignment with intended publication outcomes, and budget appropriateness. He also introduced several updates in this year’s evaluation framework to ensure objective and well-informed assessments by council members.

During Phase 1 of the 2023–2024 academic year, the Office received a total of 23 proposals. Among these, 13 projects targeted international journal publications, 9 aimed for domestic publications, and 1 focused on applied research outcomes.
The proposals covered diverse topics and were contributed by various faculties and units, including the Faculty of Marketing (6 proposals), the Faculty of Finance and Accounting (5), the Faculty of English (6), the Center for Political Theory (2), the Faculty of Information Technology (1), the Graduate School (1), and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management (2).

The council conducts discussions and evaluations for each proposal
Each proposal was carefully reviewed based on the established criteria. Council members provided detailed analyses of strengths and limitations, as well as recommendations for improvement, particularly regarding research scope and titling. After nearly two hours of deliberation, the council officially approved 18 proposals.
For the approved projects, all feedback and evaluations from the council will be compiled and shared with the respective researchers. This will enable faculty members to refine their research directions and enhance the quality of their studies during the implementation phase.
Through this rigorous evaluation process, UEF continues to strengthen the quality of its research activities, fostering a dynamic academic environment and encouraging faculty to pursue impactful and high-value research initiatives.
