UEF Holds Opening Ceremony for Official Accreditation Site Visit of Three Master’s Programs

Following the preliminary site visit, on the morning of August 5, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF), in collaboration with the Center for Education Accreditation – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (CEA VNU-HCM), held the Opening Ceremony for the official accreditation site visit of three Master’s programs: Accounting, Finance – Banking, and Economic Law.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, Director of CEA VNU-HCM, who served as the supervising representative of the evaluation.

Representing the External Evaluation Team were Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, former Vice President of VNU-HCM, Head of the delegation; Dr. Pham Ngan Giang, former Chief of Office, Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health, Secretary of the delegation; Mr. Lam Tuong Thoai, M.A., former Head of the Emulation and Commendation Board, VNU-HCM, Standing Member; along with the following members: Dr. Nguyen Van Dan, former Vice Dean, Faculty of Traditional Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Hoang Tho Phu, M.A., Head of Quality Assurance Office, University of Economics and Law, VNU-HCM; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tien Khoa, former President, International University, VNU-HCM; Dr. Vu The Dung, Director, Thinking School Co., Ltd.; Dr. Vu The Hoai, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law and Deputy Head of the Office of Graduate Studies, Saigon University.

Representing UEF were Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang, President; Dr. Ho Vien Phuong, Vice President; Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Cao Cuong, Director of Graduate Education Institute; together with University leaders and faculty members.

During the opening session, Dr. Ly Thien Trang presented an overview of UEF, emphasising the University’s strong commitment to the quality of education. She affirmed that successful program accreditation serves as a foundation for achieving the University’s long-term and sustainable development goals.

In her remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam expressed her appreciation for UEF’s continued trust in CEA VNU-HCM for this evaluation. She highlighted that the accreditation process aims to verify the alignment and effectiveness of academic programs with the institution’s objectives.

Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, Head of the External Evaluation Team, emphasized: “The External Evaluation Team will carry out its work with seriousness, independence, objectivity, and transparency in accordance with established regulations and procedures.”

The Opening Ceremony for the official accreditation site visit of the master’s programs in Accounting, Finance – Banking, and Economic Law concluded successfully. According to the schedule, the official site visit took place from August 5 to August 8, 2024. Following the ceremony, the External Evaluation Team conducted interviews with key stakeholders, including University leadership, faculty members, staff, employers, alumni, and current students; reviewed supporting documentation and evidence; and visited the University’s facilities and learning environments.

Some highlights from the first day of the official site visit by the External Evaluation Team at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF):

With a student-centred approach, UEF continues to invest in the development and enhancement of its academic programs, enabling students to optimize their capabilities and develop their individual strengths. The University’s highly qualified faculty members actively adopt and apply advanced international teaching methodologies, including case study analysis, business performance evaluation, investment analysis, strategic planning, and financial planning based on KPI indicators.

Currently, UEF offers six Master’s programmes: Business Administration, Finance – Banking, Accounting, Economic Law, English Language, and Public Relations. The University is accepting applications for Master’s admissions Intake 2 – 2024 until September 28, 2024.
