UEF Successfully Hosts iCEBD 2025 – Advancing Innovation for Sustainable Development

On April 18, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF), in collaboration with the Southern Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), successfully organized the 2nd International Conference on Economics and Business in the Digital Era (iCEBD 2025) under the theme:

"Development and Integration in the Digital Age: Innovation for Sustainability"

The conference took place at Liberty Hall, UEF Campus, with nearly 200 scholars, researchers, and experts in attendance from over 62 institutions including universities, research centers, and enterprises across Vietnam and internationally.

This year’s conference was particularly meaningful as it was held in the vibrant context of the 50th anniversary of the Reunification of Vietnam (1975–2025) – a milestone that not only evokes national pride but also inspires a forward-looking vision grounded in innovation and sustainable progress.

A Convergence of Global Expertise

iCEBD 2025 served as a vibrant interdisciplinary platform for academics and practitioners to share the latest research and innovations in key areas such as:

• Economics and trade,

• Finance and accounting,

• Business management,

• Marketing and digital strategy,

• Tourism and environmental governance,

• International integration,

with a focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of rapid digital transformation.

The conference received an impressive 155 research submissions from 58 institutions across countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Malaysia, South Korea, India, and Indonesia. Selected papers were presented in six parallel sessions alongside a highly anticipated online session, showcasing presentations from international scholars.

Online Session Highlight

Speakers included Prof. Tony Wall (UK), Prof. Muslim Amin (Malaysia), and Prof. Andreas Stoffers (Germany), covering topics from contextual digital transformation to internet banking and urban digital innovation.

A Platform for Academic Excellence and Policy Dialogue
The conference featured keynote addresses by Prof. Eric Jose Olmedo Panal and Dr. Alrence S. Halibas, whose insights on digital tourism and business analytics set the tone for in-depth academic engagement.
Parallel sessions were chaired by distinguished scholars and co-chairs from partner institutions worldwide, including representatives from FOM University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Doon University (India), RMIT University (Australia), and Perbanas Institute (Indonesia).
The Best Presentation Award was conferred in each session, based on a standardized academic evaluation process.

UEF is proud to have hosted such a dynamic and meaningful academic event. iCEBD 2025 not only fostered international academic collaboration but also reaffirmed the role of universities in advancing interdisciplinary innovation for sustainable development.
