Class of 2022 Economics Students Defend Their Thesis, On Track to Graduate Ahead of Schedule

On the morning of June 26, the Faculty of Economics – UEF successfully held the Thesis Defense Council for students majoring in International Business and Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Class of 2022. With thorough preparation and an eager learning spirit, the students confidently presented highly practical research topics that showcased their analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and ability to propose solutions to real-world global business issues.

The Thesis Defense Council included: Dr. Do Thi Thu Ha – Vice Dean, Head of Logistics & Supply Chain Management Department;M.A. Nguyen Le Dong Xuan – Vice Dean, Head of International Business Department; Dr. Pham Quoc Hai – Head of International Economics Department

The defense session for the Class of 2022 students in both majors concluded successfully, leaving strong impressions on the evaluation committee.

At UEF, students must meet rigorous academic criteria and pass strict approval procedures before being allowed to conduct a graduation thesis. This selective process ensures the academic quality of each project, as only students with outstanding performance, systematic thinking, and serious research attitudes are approved. Thanks to this, every presentation before the Council demonstrated both academic depth and strong real-world relevance — a true reflection of the students’ competencies in an international learning environment.

Two students defended their theses this session:

Cao Xuan Nga (International Business) with the topic “Factors Affecting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the VN-Index in Vietnam”; and Le Ngoc Trang (Logistics & Supply Chain Management) with the topic “Improving the Import LCL Cargo Delivery Process at MC Trans International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd.”

Each student had 15 minutes to present their research. Both demonstrated clear research focus, effective application of theoretical frameworks, and flexible use of appropriate research methods aligned with their objectives. Especially noteworthy were their practical, applicable recommendations, closely linked to real business operations and aligned with current economic trends in the era of innovation and integration.

Beyond meeting all academic and structural requirements, the theses stood out for their fresh perspectives and innovative approaches. By choosing topics deeply connected to current economic realities, the students proved their independent research ability and proactive mindset.

After each presentation, the Council provided comprehensive, constructive feedback — evaluating theoretical foundations, methodological soundness, and presentation quality. The professors highlighted each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, offering valuable advice to help refine the final work and guide future research directions.

Advices from lecturers of the Council

Defending their theses and graduating ahead of schedule marks a well-deserved achievement for both Cao Xuan Nga and Le Ngoc Trang.
