As part of UEF’s ongoing efforts to connect academic knowledge with real-world experience, students of the International Business Management course had the opportunity to engage in an insightful seminar on the evening of October 9. The session, titled “Globalization and International Economic Integration in Vietnam: Key Notes for Businesses Entering Foreign Markets,” featured Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich, Head of Training, Events, and External Affairs at the Center for International Integration under the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies.

UEF students gained practical perspectives on globalization and economic integration through interactive discussions with the expert.

Although the concepts of globalization and international integration are familiar to business students, Ms. Ngoc Bich guided participants toward a deeper and more holistic understanding. Through interactive discussions, she explained the key characteristics and benefits of global economic integration, such as enhanced access to technology and knowledge, improved product quality, and greater adaptability to the diverse demands of international markets.

Given the rapidly changing global economic landscape, Ms. Ngoc Bich emphasized that future business leaders must stay informed and strategic to minimize risks and seize opportunities. Together with students, she examined major global developments—including the expansion of free trade agreements (FTAs), the impact of COVID-19, economic stimulus packages, the Russia–Ukraine conflict, and the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

The speaker shared practical short- and long-term strategies for businesses in today’s dynamic global environment.

The session also introduced several emerging global trends shaping Vietnam’s integration process, including supply chain relocation, green transition, digital transformation, and trade defense mechanisms. In particular, the expert highlighted green transformation as a promising and necessary direction for sustainable business development in the years ahead.

Another key focus of the seminar was practical guidance for enterprises venturing into international markets. Ms. Ngoc Bich outlined essential steps such as market research, competitor analysis, legal compliance, risk management, marketing strategy development, human resource enhancement, and international partnership building.

The topic of international economic integration sparked lively discussion and critical thinking among students.
After an engaging session filled with real-world case studies and strategic insights, students consolidated their learning through a short assessment, reinforcing their understanding of globalization and international business dynamics—while earning bonus points for their International Business Management course.
