UEF Law Students Ready to Enter the “Research Arena” for the New Academic Year

On the afternoon of October 22, the UEF Faculty of Law, in collaboration with the Faculty’s Youth Union, Student Association, and the ILC – Integrity Law Club, organized the Launch Ceremony for Student Scientific Research for the 2025–2026 academic year, combined with the workshop “Methods and Skills for Scientific Research for Law Students.” This activity forms part of the Faculty’s key academic program series, aimed at inspiring research interest, stimulating scholarly thinking, and helping students develop advanced research capabilities
The Faculty of Law officially launched the student scientific research movement for the 2025–2026 academic year
Sharing at the event, Dr. Trần Vang Phủ – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, Member of the Executive Board of the Arbitration Center, and Director of the Branch of APEC Vietnam International Commercial Arbitration Center, who also served as the workshop speaker, emphasized from the outset that scientific research is a journey of cultivating legal thinking, enabling students to approach issues in a dialectical, objective, and systematic manner.
The Faculty representatives expressed appreciation for the speaker’s valuable contribution.
During his presentation, he guided students on methods for selecting legally grounded, topical, and practically valuable research topics; formulating appropriate research titles; developing logical outlines; and applying comparative legal analysis. He also introduced the application of both qualitative and quantitative research methods within the legal field.
The speaker further introduced a range of reputable academic databases such as Google Scholar, HeinOnline, Westlaw, and ScienceDirect, enabling students to proactively access and utilize scholarly resources for their research.
Dr. Trần Vang Phủ provided in-depth insights into research methods and skills.
According to Dr. Trần Vang Phủ, engaging in scientific research allows students to strengthen their critical thinking, writing, reasoning, and presentation skills from the perspective of a professional legal practitioner. This foundation equips them with greater confidence as they enter real-world professional environments.
During the program, the Faculty also honored and awarded certificates to student groups that achieved outstanding results in scientific research in the 2024–2025 academic year, recognizing their perseverance and creativity in the pursuit of knowledge. Each recognized research project stands as a testament to persistence and reflects the academic commitment and responsibility consistently encouraged by the UEF Faculty of Law.

The Faculty of Law awarded certificates to student groups with notable research achievements in the previous academic year.
The launch ceremony and workshop served as strong motivation for students to actively engage in research and to better understand the importance of applying scientific methods in analyzing, evaluating, and proposing legal solutions. The research journey goes beyond producing a written study; it is a process of developing critical, creative, and independent thinking while engaging with modern knowledge systems and rigorous scientific methodologies.
Student scientific research activities have opened a new academic year filled with expectations, inspiring proactive learning and ambition among Law students. From this point forward, each UEFer becomes a “young researcher” who knows how to ask questions, provide explanations, and generate new knowledge, thereby contributing to enhancing both the academic and practical value of Vietnamese law.
