Research and Education for Sustainable Development (RESD) focuses on the integration of sustainability principles into research and educational practices. The goal is to share best practices on how to equip individuals, communities, and organizations with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values necessary to shape a sustainable future.
The conference theme is align with the 17 SDGs set by the United Nations, addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, and peace and justice. This is to allow educators to develop and implement teaching methods that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and active learning about sustainability. This includes incorporating real-world issues into the curriculum and fostering experiential learning opportunities.
RESD encourages collaboration across various disciplines to address complex sustainability challenges. This includes studying the interactions between ecological, social, and economic systems and developing integrated solutions. By advancing knowledge and education in these areas, the conference aims to create informed and engaged participants who can contribute to building a more sustainable and equitable world.
